This is so childish. I feel like we should turn the car around and take everyone back home.

Vientos is definitely more of an impact player this year, but I suppose the question is how dark is Iglesias' fur? He came from further out of nowhere than Vientos did.

Interesting that Peterson is still in there.

    And now he's not.

    Athletics... Jimmie Foxx?

Aaron hit homers for the Brewers and Mays had more homers as a Giant than Ott did.

Killebrew was a Kansas City Royal at the end of his career. How about Ernie Banks and the Cubs?

Do any of the other major sports in the United States include uniform advertisements?

Just plain awful. And there's no reason to think it's going to stop here. I'm sure there's more, and worse, to come.

Apparently we were similarly following the Oakland A's last year: https://phpbb3.leaptoad.com/mets/archives/32300/f1_t32397.shtml1962 Mets vs. 2023 Athletics And in case you were wondering, the A's finished 2023 with a record of 50-112. The Royals, also mentioned in that thread, finished at a relatively robust 56-106.

Bender was with the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, a Single-A team in the Florida State League. Bender had told teammates he wanted the season to be over, according to sources. Nice! He has a real future ahead of him in baseball.

I suppose so, but if it was a positive memory, it probably (although not definitely) would have included something like "I'm sorry I misunderstood" or "belated thank you".

I didn't even bother today. I bailed once I saw that I would be asked to name someone who was a Tampa Bay Ray and a White Sock.

Yes. As stated above, I went with Game 6 because why not? One less loss on the Mets ledger.

I picked the 1973 World Series because it's the only choice that would guarantee a world championship. After that, there are NLCS games in 1988 and 2006 that would have guaranteed an additional trip to the World Series. So those would be my second-tier picks.

He turned 32 last month. It would be fun to have him back, if he has anything left. Maybe he'd be willing to try to prove himself in Syracuse.

It's too bad Lopez had that freakout. The Mets might have won a couple of extra games over the summer if he had remained. And this looks like it might be a year where every game matters.

Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Game 1 of the 2000 World Series. didn't even have to think about it For me, it's Game 6 of the 1973 World Series. Either that game (or the following one) are the only options that would guarantee an extra World Championship.
