The Cubs offense had had 22 half innings in this series: 8, 8, and 6 times in this game so far.
How many leadoff batters have NYM pitchers retired do you suppose? I'm guessing maybe 5 of 6

Next available potential middle-infield minor league callup is 32-year-old Josh Rodriguez, who is a minor league free agent at the end of the season and is probably already home and planning his retirement.

Behind him is ... Luis Guillorme? L.J. Mazzilli?

So much for holding 'em to a few field goals.

It's actually getting worse!

It's like a couple of lists go up in the clubhouse each day: one which lists whose turn it is to get hurt that day, and the other which pitchers' turn it is to suck.

That's what I get for turning into a Cleveland fan for 15 minutes.

You know how the league is trying to save time by having the manager hold up four fingers to call for the intentional walk?

Terry should just walk away from the mound after making a pitching change and hold up five fingers -- and have the umpire just go ahead and add five runs on the scoreboard. You know it's going to happen, and it just eliminates more chances for someone else to get hurt.

I know most of youse are off the air now in the midst of another blow out, but
why is SNY showing happy drunk Cub fans trying to dance?

Cool, now they can start playing the scrubinis!
(I would have guessed mathematical elimination happened long ago)

Yeah, umlauts have failed just as so many things have failed me.

But you'd really never think you could be disappointed by umlauts, of all things.

Mets flew out of Chicago wearing römpers to the last man. Kind of appropriate, I guess, and it beats rookie hazing day.

It looks like nobody's enjoying this more than Matt Harvey is.

I guess a sense of humor is a sense of humor but if I just gave up ~40 runs in
a three game series I probably wouldn't be in romper-mode...

(only deGrom could make that color look good on a guy)

We may have to figure it out Gselly from process of elimination, as September Mets are often hard to identify.

Here's a larger version of the tarmac shot:

And here's a handy-dandy chart with numbers:
