Alert the media ... and Mr. Ripley.

First six innings tonight: Double - Single - Walk - Walk - Walk - Double

I guess one inning in a row was as much success as we could handle as Flexen throws another leadoff walk onto the bonfire.

Did Ron Darling just crack up as they went to the break?

Because of the expression on the HR catching fans face out in left, if that's what you are referring to.

Looks more demented than funny to me. But then again I never caught a HR ball. I have no idea what my face would look like if I did.

It's a minor miracle we're not losing by 11 or 12 right now.

The last home run ball I caught was hit by Jim Hickman at the Polo Grounds. I wasn't looking at myself, so I don't know what my face looked like, either.

Wow!

So this is our little Mets losing game nightly tease here?

Now Laggy is the tying run on double deck with two away. Would you pinch-hit Nimmo if that situation comes around?

You're thinking like a manager. Good for you. I'm thinking like a disappointed fan. So I wasn't thinking beyond: "just keep it goin Cabby!"

Lost/sad/allAdat.

I think I've given the details here before. Mets were losing, the fans were filing out. Hickman hit one off the corner of the auxiliary scoreboard that hung on the facade of the second deck near the left field foul pole and it caromed into the lower deck right at me. I was so surprised that I dropped it, then just had to bend down a pick it up. There was nobody else around other than the friend who had gone to the game with me. OK, so it wasn't a clean catch. I still don't know how my face looked, but it was probably a look of surprise.
