Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Sandy just must be fucking with Cabrera by not trading him at this point.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Can they just stop playing right now and let everyone rest up for next year?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Since I brought it up last night -- Tom Koehler AAA update, for what it's worth: 1.67 ERA in 37 2/3 innings (seven games), with 55 K.(Sigh.)
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Obviously doesn't have the smarts to make it back the bigs but that's OK. Not all of us can afford a great education and it's no reason not to like the guy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Joanne Worley and (Mary) Tyler Moore?!? ... it's like they don't even feel they have to put an all-male lineup out there to beat us, so just let a couple of '70s TV comediennes handle it.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 This is excitement, and hit it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I'm hoping this is the beginning of Nimmo nailing down that leadoff spot and owning it.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 No time like the present to find out about Nimmo.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 You see Nimmo getting to Gordon's hit in a hurry and holding him to a single?Nimmo can play center.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Rosario also looking more comfortable at short. And the entire Mets squad forgets how many outs there are.Sheesh, guys, one day without Granderson.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Nuthin' like getting shut down for some 15 innings by the likes of Justin Niccolino and Vance Worley and leaving the likes of Flexen & Montero with ZERO margin for error.TGI-GiDPs
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 One-hitter.Vance Worley.ONE-HITTER VANCE WORLEY WTF?!W?! T?! F?!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 And Rosario answers that with a hit!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 That's the second pop-up that Rosario has missed despite seeming to have it lined up.Neither was an easy chance, but in both cases he looked like he did the hard part by getting there only to then whiff on it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Here's the most important pitch coming.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 One run home, but a good job bailing out by Montie.Problem is that one run is intimidating lead these days.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 He's got 91 pitches and he leads off the bottom of the inning. Think we see Cecchini?

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I think it may be time to stop the "Montero is pitching, is he all we have?" kinds of comments. He is now pitching like a solid, if not spectacular, major league starter - a back end of the rotation type of pitcher. Most of his past few games have resulted in "quality starts" and that is what we expect from that type of pitcher.LAter
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Mets get Montero off the hook.It would be lovely to get him a lead here.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 There 'tis!!If Realmuto blocks that wild pitch in the dirt, that's an inning-ending double play.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Raffy in a position to get his first 2017 win at home if the bullpen can hold this.IF the bullpen can hold this.If the bullpen can hold this.If the bullpen can hold this.
