I wasn’t even invited to spring training, not officially, anyhow. But as much ink has been spilled about me this spring as any other player in this organization. And some of them are really good. So I might as well get a thread.

I’m big, and I’m fast, but I king of move around the field like a football player. Violently, and with my head a little more focused on my immediate environment than works for a big league outfielder, chasing fly balls sort of like I’m looking for opposing tacklers. As a hitter, I’m making contact, not chasing much, but not pulling much either. So far, this has all allowed me to do a pretty passable imitation of a marginal, going nowhere baseball player. Going forward, I’ll either adjust and progress, or the larger sample size will reveal me as the non-starter you might expect a guy who hasn’t played in over a decade to be..

I try to stay positive, so I’m looking forward to it. I’m hoping for the best. Expecting… I dunno. What do you think?

I think he starts a little slowly, works his butt off and gets progressively better as the season continues. Will get a lot of respect as a good teammate and is a nice story for the Mets and baseball.

I'm sure the safe $$ is on him struggling to rise above the level he's at but who knows. I don;t care which outfielder from the system comes up as long as someone makes progress.

I predict he hits a few homers but strikes out too much to warrant further investment.

Through his first 23 plate appearances for St. Lucie, the guy is the King of the FSL at .438 / .565 / .647 // 1.212.

TT has hit in 11 straight and 14 of 16 since his promotion to St. Lucie.

He extended that today the hard way, hitting in both halves a doubleheader, with both games limited to seven regulation innings.

He went to the seventh of the second game hitless. With the hitting streak on the line if he failed, he instead hit a walkoff homer to complete the St. Lucie sweep.

A fairly pedestrian 3-5 yesterday with 4 total bases, now batting .308. Send him up to the Ponies, why the hell not.

I've grown tired of the 'haters are gonna hate' jive lingo. I don't
know anyone who hates Tebow.

Farters are gonna fart.

Standing by my pre-season projection.

The bad news ...
- after his hot start following a promotion to the High-A FSL, Tebow is now 12 for his last 100 which has brought his A+ numbers down to right around where his Low-A stats were: .214/.290/.339

The good news ...
Attendance is up!! Port St Lucie went from averaging 1,700 fans/game to over 2,400 since he joined the team to the point where the stadium has had to add ushers, ticket-takers, etc.
He's creating jobs!!! (which is more than most politicians can claim)

I'm kinda looking forward to the Sept of youngins. I hope Cloud Tebow isn't
gonna cast his shadow on the fun in the sun.

Speaking of declining batting averages, who among us isn't rooting for Aaron Judge to finish the season with a lower batting average than Tim Tebow?
Yeah, I know the level of competition is different, but Tim plays half his games in a MUCH tougher ball park.

Not trying to hijack the thread, so if this post should be moved to the LOL Yankees thread, please do it.

Put me down for one who isn't rooting nor interested which christian
has the better BA and at what level. You really keep track of that?

Yikes.

Huh?
This thread just mentioned Tebow's slump and I was comparing it to Judge's slump. From today's news.
https://www.apnews.com/6ee42203cda7406c9ca0eb5b592ca933/Yankees-sitting-Judge-for-2-days,-hoping-to-end-slump?utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=AP_Sports
It was meant to be about Schadenfreude concerning the slump of "the next great MFY slugger".

You're misinterpreting my posts. Again.
Are you saying that I can't make ANY comments that mention Tebow lest they be characterized as religious?
That's just not right.
If he proves he is good enough to make the team, I will root for him, just like I rooted for Daniel Murphy who shares Tebow's beliefs.
What do I have to say to show you that my comments about Tebow are not motivated by what you constantly accuse me of?

Nothing wrong in my interpretation. You pick two well known devout christian
dudes, one who plays for the New York Yankees and one who is side-show-bob
for the minor league NY Mets and is a major distraction wherever he goes un-
less you're the one counting the money at the gate.

And you care about one's BA over the other? I call bullshit that you didn't know
that they were both bible dudes and I call bullshit that every time we disagree
that it's some kind of personal nonsense.

Next time you want to whip out your schadenfreude and links do so in the first
place so we don't have to (perhaps incorrectly) know your meaning.

So there. I'm not even gonna 'sooner' ya.

Well back to [MFS's] batting average question: considering that Judge's slump has dropped him down to .264 while Tebow sits at 47 points lower and the minor league season has less than two weeks
left in it, I'd say putting your money on the football player from Florida would be a bad financial investment.

Neither did I. I don't follow that team enough to know that, and if I did I wouldn't care. It was certainly not my intention to pick them because of their religion. Nymr got it right.
