I hit 30 homers once and 27 another time. I lead all active Mets in KABOOM!s and I'm just 10 swings away from the all-time top 10 list. IMMORTALITY!

But, I'm a big, enigmatic, goofy guy. And carrying around this much me is tough on the old joints. They hurt, like a lot. Blame who you want to blame. Maybe I shouldn't have played all that futile outfield and stuff. But now is now. Fortunately, it's early in spring training and there's time to catch up. And man, I'm raring to get go... OW! Shoulder! Shit!

Is this how 2017 is going to look? Really? Let me know.

.247- 15- 50.
His back isn't all the way back. Fewer than 100 games.

I'm working out most every day and watching what I eat
They tell me that it's good for me, but I don't even care
I know that it's crazy
I know that it's nowhere
But there is no denying that......
I'll be hobbled by nagging injuries- 12 HR/48 RBI/ .250 in limited action.

David Wright is raising his hand in the back of the room.

Sorry, I lead all active-at-the-end-of-last-season Mets in KABOOM!s.

My mistake. My big, goofy mistake.

He'll OBP about .360 and hit about 23 HRs in 135 games. And the "fans" on Mets and SNY social media will continue to hate him. This will be his final year in Queens.

If he plays all year: 40-120 287/360/520.

If not: 20-60-287/360/520

What'll probably happen: 10-30 287/360/520

Wouldn't be surprised if: 5-15 287/360/520

Do we buy into juiced ball theory last year, and does that continue this year? Because if so Duda's gonna break the Mets home run record. 2016 had the second most home runs ever, behind 2000. the 5th best ISO (and barely), behind '99-01, and '06.

Duda missed much of the bump last year.

.250/.350/.490 wRC+ of 129. 42 HR. 148 GP. 3.5 fWAR

Drives in Cespedes 5 times in the NLDS.

Makes the final put out of the world series, a 3 unassisted in the scorebook.

46.75% more from him than in 2016 across the board, but it will
be a struggle at times and the clamoring for others to be at first will
be a distraction to some.

I'm inclined to think that too. And how we feel about his departure if in fact it happens will be determined by how the next seven or eight months go.

The 2018 infield could potentially look very different from 2017. Who leaves? Who comes back? It will be an intriguing story as the season progresses.

I have never seen this man play, and furthermore I don't think I ever will. I even went so far as to look him up on UMDB and see that at one time, he was a vital part of the team, but up until I looked, I thought he was a myth.

So my prediction is, he's history

Edit: Remember I only get to watch about 10 games a year, perhaps he's just never played in any game I've seen

You've missed something special. To know Boo is to love him. And I don't want to presume, but I'd guess you'd love him more than most.

I know guys, you talk about this guy as a really special player but I have no recollection of ever seeing him play. I can't imagine missing a playoffs game. If he comes back and makes this team special, or for whatever reason memorable (even if they lose because winning is not a requirement for me to love a team) (always looking for ways to honor Dad), then I will embrace him as you all do.

But honestly at this point, he is a complete blank to me.
