FIELD keepin' on keepin' on.

AMBRES 1. 2007: Only got one hit as a Met, but it was a game-winner in a game against the Dodgers. Outfielder.
ARMAS 2. 2008: Not quite the player his dad was.
3. 1963-64: Bullpenner who came over from St. Louis in exchange for Ken MacKenzie.
BUCHANAN 4. 2004: Outfielder who served as a DH/PH for Minnesota and then San Diego before ending his short career with five days as a Met in August 2004.
BYRD 5. 1995-96: 109-96 in 14 seasons with an ERA+ of 103, which sounds just about right. Typical veteran "innings eater" who pitched for seven different teams.
CHRISTENSEN 6. 2002: Had an infield single off John Smoltz in the 9-run ninth on April 6, then went down to AAA and never made it back. 1st round pick who made some noise with the White Sox in the late 90s but never amounted to much.
CRAM 7. 1974-75: All 3 AB came when he pitched the 17th-24th innings, giving up no runs, in that crazy game against the Cardinals.
DRAPER 8. 1993: 1-1, 4.25 in his only MLB season after being a Rule 5 pick from the MFYs.
EDENS 9. 1987: Sent to Philly as a PTBNL in the Samuel trade. Later became a solid bullpen arm for the Twins.
ERICKSON 10. 2004: Vet best known as a Twin or Oriole who started two games in July and was "meh."
FILER 11. 1992: Eight games for the Cubs in 1982, eleven for the Jays (7-0!) in 1985, then three years in Milwaukee as a part-time starter before appearing in nine games as a Met in 1992.
GONZALEZ 12. 2006: 7.71 ERA in 14 innings as a Met. RIP.
HANEY 13. 1998: Utility guy/PH who was a September callup after a few cups of coffee with the Cubs.
HENNIGAN 14. 1973: 0-4, 6.23 after being a solid bullpen arm in Cleveland for a few seasons.
KNIGHT 15. 2008: Came up with the MFYs in 2001 and was terrible, then pitched overseas before making his return.
LAFFEY 16. 2013: Hilarious that anyone thought he had anything left. 7.20 ERA in ten innings.
LATHAM 17. 1985: LHP who was traded to Minnesota in the Tim Teufel deal.
LITTLE 18. 2002: OF who came from Colorado with John Thomson, then dealt away two weeks later to Arizona.
LONG 19. 1999: Traded to Oakland for Kenny Rogers, then finished second in the 2000 ROY voting.
MARTIN 20. 2001: 10.06 ERA. (Not a typo.) LOOGY who couldn't even get OO.
MINOR 21. 1995-96: Useful bullpen arm acquired from the Pirates and then dealt to Seattle.
MOORE 22. 1972-73: Looks like was converted to a pitcher in the Mets' system, and was eventually traded for Joe Torre.
RAUCH 23. 1972: His only MLB season; struggled his way through nineteen relief appearances. No relation to the enormous 2012 Met.
ROBLES 24. 2015-16: Key bullpen piece.
SEMINARA 25. 1994: Brooklyn --> Columbia U --> San Diego --> Mets
DON SHAW 26. 1967-68: Conflated with, but not related to, a similarly-named teammate. LHRP.
SIMONS 27. 1991: Rule 5 pick who went 2-3, 5.19. LHP who went to Montreal in 1992 and gave up eight runs in a third of an inning over two games in April against the Mets.
STANTON 28. 2003-04: The real reason the current player changed his name is so he wouldn't be associated with this guy.
STOKES 29. 2008-09: This RHP + a 1986 Met = Broadway star!
SWEET 30. 1982: Better known for his baseball card hair than his bat.
TAYLOR 31. 1972: 5.52 ERA in 31 innings, and he's not even the worst pitcher with this name in team history.
YNOA 32. 2016: Surprise starter in three games last season.

All these players had exactly TWO Mets AB:

1. 1974: IIRC, Was TMF's neighbor or something like that.
2. 1977: Backup infielder for a few years with the White Sox before coming to NY.
3. 2004: Only eleven of the 492 players to pitch for the Mets have a higher ERA, but none of them pitched as many innings (six).
4. 1989-1991: Top pitching prospect acquired for Doug Sisk; his 15.2 innings as a Met are the entirety of his MLB career.
5. 1998-99: LHRP traded to Colorado at the deadline in the Darryl Hamilton deal.
6. 2004: Former closer who pitched in 60 games and yet I remember exactly zero of them.
7. 2011: As a top prospect, was traded from Philly to Houston for Billy Wagner; ended his career throwing 26 bullpen innings as a Met.
8. 2013: 0-3, 5.68 in 32 games and has zero memories on the UMDB. Good luck.
9. 2002-03: Young LOOGY who was traded to KC for Shawn Sedlacek.
10. 1967-68: Better known as a long-time pitching coach, particularly for the MFYs.
11. 2003: Spent 11 years as an "organizational backstop" in four organizations before getting a cuppa in September.
12. 1965-66: Got to share a rookie card with Rob Gardner, at least?
13. 1971: Wait, didn't we have him on this list the other day? So many similarly-named obscure Mets. A footnote to Mets history.
14. 1995: 3rd round pick who got into four games as a Met, then had a productive MLB career, getting nearly 2000 PAs with the Reds, White Sox, Orioles, and Rays.
15. 2013-14: Part of a MFY-Mets deal.
16. 1992: Part of a MFY-Mets deal.
17. 2002: LOOGY who was a very productive bullpen piece for 15 seasons from 1989-2003, mostly with the Twins.
18. 1973: PH/PR in his only MLB season.
19. 2000-02: Honestly, it was pretty easy to tell them apart.
20. 2005: Key figure in perhaps the greatest Mets regular-season play of all time.
21. 2004-05: Loathed.
22. 1997: Was pretty useless out of the bullpen, then went to Arizona and in his one appearance back at Shea, gave up three runs in a third of an inning.
23. 2000: "No, not THAT first baseman. This one's got a U, not a W, and he mostly strikes out."
24. 1977: Pitched only one game as a Met, but won 35 games as a Shea Stadium resident in 1974-75.
25. 2003-04: Made his debut in 1999 in KC, but injured his arm in an off-field accident and aggravated it by pitching. Never really harnessed the magic again.
26. 1965: One earned run in 16 innings at age 21... and no other MLB experience.
27. 2008: Infielder who played 1028 games in Pittsburgh and Philly before ending his career pinch-hitting twice in June.
28. 2005: 3-1, 1.49 in 36.1 innings in the pen. Supposedly dated my colleague's friend.
29. 2001: Pitcher who was traded for Roberto Alomar but never amounted to much after he left NY.
30. 2003: Seven runs in three innings in his MLB debut, five runs in six innings three weeks later, and that was it for his MLB career.
31. 1987: Part of the deal that sent Rick Sutcliffe to the Cubs, so he's basically responsible for us not being World Champs in 1984.
32. 1968: A LOOGY before being a LOOGY was a thing.
33. 1977-78: For some reason, we traded Dave Kingman for him.
34. 2007-08: A valued bullpen piece who was traded for two other bullpen pieces. We should have held onto him.
35. 1974: 1st round pick (fourth overall) in 1969 who only lasted two weeks in the MLB in September. Got Gary Carter to ground out in Carter's first MLB AB.
36. 2009: Made his MLB debut at age 40; pitched 27.1 innings with a 2.96 ERA.
37. 1989: Finished fifth in the ROY voting with Minnesota in 19990.
38. 2007: 0-1, 12.19 in 10.1 innings, which was worse than the unrelated guy who pitched for the Mets in 2008.
39. 2002: 2nd round pick who, like seemingly so many players in this thread, was way more successful - primarily in San Francisco - after leaving the Mets.
40. 1967: 0-1, 8.64 ERA after being a hot Dodger prospect.

I think Field just called Greg to congratulate him on his electoral victory and promised to work with him over the upcoming year despite the sometimes nasty nature of the previous campaign.
