Is Papelbon blacklisted?

He was cut by the Nationals, and no one picked him up. Now he is not even being mentioned anywhere on the Hot Stove.

I don't think that he was injured, are people just sick of his act and now he is done?

I'm guessing the latter.

He's aging, he's clubhouse poison, and I'm sure he doesn't come cheap. These are things that work against a player's marketability.

The Nats clubhouse wasn't big enough to house the attitude of both Papelbon and Sale (along with Bryce's hair, Strasburg's ears and Dusty's toothpick collection).

I'm thinking some desperate team will pick pap up before the start of next season.

Bad year, but was pretty good in 2015, so he's not far removed from being effective.
