Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Got a little worried there for a second.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 It might have even been year two, there are others here with better memory than me. It's older than the Coke sign!

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Reed gets it done in the 8th. Terry likely goes to Familia (especially since he has had him up and throwing) in a non-save situation to close out the game.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Two outs, bottom 8th, no men on base, down 5-1 -- And Dusty goes to the pen?

If they got the tying run on I would have then summoned Reed.Fammy? Same deal.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Sure, the Cardinals have won, but the Giants are down by a run in the 13th. I'll take that.Miami lost also, and Pittsburgh was clobbered.

Nats had the middle of the order coming up [Werth, Murph, Harper, Rondon, and, as it turned out, Ramos]. Even with a four run lead, Terry would kick himself (and we'd join in on the kicking) if he blew that game by going to second tier relievers. Now with just one inning to go and the bottom of the order, I'd prefer not to see Familia with the quick turn-around tomorrow, but aren't going to storm the castle over it. Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Howies got a great point tho. All games are crucial at this point. I wouldn't be concerned if not for the early game tomorrow. But we do have to treat all games as crucial.[bigpurple:1k0dt6oh]2[/bigpurple:1k0dt6oh]
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 1 out to go. Then it's party time.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I love that Fammy gets his first guy on the high, riding fastball, and the second guy on the slider.Hopefully, number three falls before the splitter.OE: uh, no.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Nice to see Jay Bruce starting to find his stroke at the plate. He's 8 for his last 19 with 3 home runs. If he gets going it could really help to solidify the line up.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I really appreciate the MLB.tv sticks with the WOR radio broadcast for quite a while after the game ( nice and clear, not like my cheapo AM radio). The SNY feed they cut off before the last K in BOOKS![fimg=500:sxyus274]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/lqw2bfEUdDn0vv1k2higCn3tXsJwNPpmMak3C2K4jCqsqnL52FrRFWDIejoPtiIZhv-6y65gVrtXq83tJHDdhdRcLV2qCCc8AcBw9DoHcM-giJ4VSqm2F8s2W0jZF_SaIenwo1GKEdxsf6IKYTvh--7Xt_8lwqsVkVrmWlWx45S-mFzRs5kkmyBtN0888NXRKbkh6lMIs05vnZ51NGWGDXPQ83xcjNrgbFExUYTN5mhwxgVYaOuILe5vNNAKHnzhAUX_lPQ7nud2NS0eDUuW68EZ5OJ1i0ssgUeD1R8ViTY8AoJMzBzgl-zeY0Xwz5UV_3abhuoSu9glE3w3cEFNVLXRUxZxRYPWWCK-ZjbtFR7TjnJEaYUfpASOG2XoAYs3XAtf9PDTe2X-uTMFkIp2F8LcbojlWIYRBZ2N-Y_yQ0Ezq-oBiWefhyQ3DoF72Ft7IbHZnbgLmyzutzP6-ZMj3bJHVjh9yWsqeQbODflX1Sz76swANuNYOJjp5RaT2_MOx-xwcmYycAw_laxoKX8R5gIUOh1h-rCwZTA7nX8asEw3xeBCQOc_zh66RY580K_ii-2VF0y3pZGh0knO463-KdXFYbdi5FN0gWMDMR1jPuikyRCojg=w995-h818-no[/fimg:sxyus274]So the HRs at home are an all-time Mets record? We've done a little more record breaking lately. I better start taking notes.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 So 97 HRs at home. Niiiiice. And Muffy with the first 16 games w/a hit vs his old team is a silly record, but it's a record.post game stuff:CitiFieldHR ?@CitiFieldHR 8m8 minutes agoFun fact, Jay Bruce was the first to hit a home run off a splitter in Citi Field this year.Anthony DiComo ?@AnthonyDiComo 11m11 minutes agoSeth Lugo pitched through a blister tonight that has bothered him his last two starts. Obviously though, no ill effects. #MetsAnthony DiComo ?@AnthonyDiComo 7m7 minutes agoWilmer Flores, who changed his walk-up music to the theme from "Friends," said he's seen every episode. Gelbs said during the game today that the flight from NYC to Cincy took off at 1:12am and landed at 2:33am.The Cincy International airport (which is actually in Kentucky) was voted one of the best airports in the world a few years ago. When I used to travel a lot on business, they kept telling us that on the airport TVs. It is a major hub for major airlines as well as a number of regional carriers. If the flight was that quick, it sounds like they got a good landing slot.Later
