Hey, Familia's up for the Mets all-time save record. That could be another Topps card.

Shit, that'd be Mets history. Gah, that might be a must have. Maybe they'll overlook it (ha!).

At seasons start I hoped for better come September, but I'll certainly take this and love it. Team is heating up at the perfect time.

SF won today, but the Dodgers have lost one and are in the process of losing the second (rained out on Tuesday) so there may be a new NL West team to pursue in the WC chase.
Pitt losing 3-1 in the 6th, StL losing 3-1 in the 7th, and the Marlins have obviously lost already.

The Mets are now 9-3 since Yoenis Cespedes and Asdrubal Cabrera came off the disabled list.

Wilmer Flores has a career high 9-game hitting streak.

Familia: 44 saves (record breaker) with a month left. Wow.

Tuning in now to St. Louis losing to Milwaukee. Old Buddy Carlos Torres on for the Cerveceros, two out and bases loaded for Peralta.

OE: FLY OUT TO CENTER!

And the Brewers win! Mets within a game and a half of the second wild card slot.

In addition to Carlos Torres bailing out Matt Garza, ex-Mets get BIG representation from Kirk Nieuwenhuis, proving all the Brewer scoring with a three-run homer and making an outstanding diving catch on top of that.

Made the catch for the last out, too.

Ichiro will be voted into the Hall of Fame and Pete Rose won't.
And that makes me break into my happy dance.

Dodgers wound up scoring three in the 8th then five in the 9th -- including a 2-out 9th inning Grand Slam by (who is?) LF Andrew Toles -- to pull out that second game.
So while fans of the SFG were likely already thinking of being just 1/2 game out in the West as the Rox were leading 8-2 entering the 8th, they suddenly had to contend with a 1-1/2 game deficit again.

That was a shit sandwich for Colorado to eat. They were red hot and sneaking into the periphery of the playoff picture. The double header sweep would have been a helluva day's work to sleep on.
