Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 7:10 -- Jeremy Hellickson vs Noah SyndergaardUnlike last night's starter, Hellickson has been pretty good recently (6 'Quality Starts' in his last 9) and probably their best pitcher all season: 10-7; 3.60; 1.14This will be his 4th start against us this season, Mets have gone 1-2Only the Dodgers, who lost to the Cubs in extras, lost lat night among the NL contenders so we're pretty much in the same place today as we were yesterday except that there's one day fewer remaining on the schedule.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Can we fake an injury to Curtis or Bruce and get Conforto on the next flight?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 I believe they may be discussing it upstairs.Ronnie was kinda 50/50 about it in the booth.Anyway, we need a W everyday.Hellickson was pretty effective in Tampa Bay. He is not a walkover. LGM

Poor Bruce. Well, not "poor" Bruce. Shitty Bruce? He'll come around. I pictured him putting up at least Duda like #s down the stretch. I predict he's about to go on a Duda like tear.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 They can block SNY thru MLB.tv but they can't block WPIX. Ha! It's rare I get GKR when we play the Phils. I will treasure this.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Still no outs in the Met third, about ten minutes in.It's not exactly like Hellickson's wheels are coming off unbidden... it's more that the Mets' patience seems to be steadily working the tire nuts loose.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 A mighty Thor double!Noah Syndergaard had six extra base hits this season, tied for second most in Mets history in a season. Tom Seaver had seven in 1972.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Apparently, Cespedes flies Delta.JESUS, that home run.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Just when wrote this team off and gave them up for dead, the offense comes to life. I should have given up on them a few weeks earlier.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Usual WPIX black out for me but Josh did a nice job of calling the Cespedes HR (listening via XM).

Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 I haven't done the math, but it certainly feels like there's finally some reversion to the mean with RISP. And it's about time.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Thor thru 7. 2 hits, 7Ks. 104 pitches. Looks like he's done. Great job Noah! And it's feels strange to say, but I feel secure that the pen will bring this one home.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Mets have the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the 7th. Time to blow this game open.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Bases loaded with one out as Loney strikes out swinging. Come on DeAza, we need a base hit.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Not enjoying my Loney at-bats these days.
