Matt Harvey (you may have heard of him) vs Jose Quintana (who may be the best pitcher you've not heard of)

Quintana, a 27 y/o Columbian lefty (yes, another lefty) is in his fifth season with the south-side Chicagoans. Currently 5-4 but with a 2.22 ERA; a 1.015 WHiP; 60 K / 12 BB (funny how a K/BB ratio of ONLY 5-to-1 looks like nothing special compared to last night)
His stats were even better up until his last two starts where he gave up 3 and 4 runs; prior to that his earned runs allowed had been a string of zeros, ones, and twos.

Basically the White Sox are a bit below the AL average in run scoring this season but second best (behind only Seattle) in run preventing.
We need to know more about them.

The Chicago White Sox hope to take advantage of a quick turnaround for their opponents and end their six-game losing streak when they continue their nine-game road trip with the opener of a three-game interleague set against the New York Mets on Monday afternoon. Chicago has dropped from first to third place in the American League Central thanks to both its current skid and a 4-14 record since May 10.

Austin Jackson, who is 8-for-16 over his last four games, singled and drove in two runs in Sunday's loss at Kansas City before leaving late with a case of turf toe and is day-to-day. New York is coming off a disappointing 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the rubber match of their three-game set on Sunday night, with the contest ending approximately 14 hours before the start of the opener versus Chicago. The Mets managed to reach Clayton Kershaw for two runs, including one in the eighth inning to forge a tie, but closer Jeurys Familia yielded two in the ninth as the club suffered its second straight loss. Curtis Granderson went 2-for-4 Sunday to raise his average to .208 and has hit for the cycle over his last three games, going 4-for-12 in that span.

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox LH Jose Quintana (5-4, 2.22 ERA) vs. Mets RH Matt Harvey (3-7, 6.08)

Quintana looks to halt a losing streak that reached three starts when he allowed three runs and five hits in six innings against Cleveland on Wednesday. It marked the second straight outing in which the 27-year-old Colombian yielded three or more earned runs after giving up two or fewer in each of his first eight turns. Quintana, who never has faced New York, has posted a 2.05 ERA in five road starts this season but has just a 2-2 record.

Harvey also has lost his last three starts, but in a much uglier fashion as he has surrendered 19 runs � 16 earned � and 27 hits over 13 1/3 innings. The 27-year-old native of Connecticut lasted only 2 2/3 frames in his last outing at home on May 19, when he yielded nine runs � six earned � and eight hits in the first of two straight losses to Washington. Harvey was brilliant in his lone career start against the White Sox, striking out 12 without issuing a walk during a one-hit shutout in Chicago on May 17, 2013.

WALK-OFFS:
1. Mets LF Yoenis Cespedes is 9-for-15 (.600) with four homers and 10 RBIs in his career against Quintana.
2. Chicago C Dioner Navarro recorded a stolen base on Sunday � his first since 2014 with Toronto and fourth since notching a career-high five in 2009 with Tampa Bay.
3. New York INF Wilmer Flores (hamstring) was activated from the disabled list Sunday and went 0-for-3 while starting at third base for David Wright, who is battling neck inflammation, and SS Matt Reynolds was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas.

I guess growing up, since he was such a good athlete, they didn't have him doing that in Little League even when he was pitching. And maybe they should have.

Harvey is looking fine, like 2013 Harvey. Does he get through five? Six? Stay tuned.
