Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 8:10! Actually that's not bad. That's like a 1970s night game. Some of you young whippersnappers might not recall 8oclock starts.I'm going to tweet to Vin Scully and ask him what he thinks of the amount of night games played today. I'd also like him to run for president. He's the only one I'd vote for because I trust him. And if he wins we still get to hear his voice. Win/Win

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Listening via XM/phone. Neither pitcher really impressing thus far.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Dick Scott getting his first shot running the team.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Two run double by a guy who should have been struck. And the Mets blew the double play. Hopefully, Duda isn't gun-shy about throwing across the diamond.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I stepped off for 15 minutes or so and Im reading horrible things about umps. All on ball/strike calls?Ugh. Not Verrett's night.7-1 RolleysI did see Conforto launch a shot earlier and...I thought the ball carried more there?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 This could be a problem. Have the Mets even scored 7 runs this month?

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Was TC tossed? They are gonna hang Verrett out to dry but we really do need 5 minimum from him, no? 6 really.

All on ball/strike calls?A swing-and-miss for strike 3 that was ruled a foul tip (missed it by 6 inches). That allowed the AB to continue which wound up as a 2R 2BAnd, yes, Terry got tossed arguing that call.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 And on top of everything else, this is heading for a 5 hour game at this pace.An hour and a half in and we're not thru the 3rd yet.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 WOW. I always do expect too much, don't I? Verrett is off to the showers in the 3rd!He's come through more than not so I won't rip him a new one but he had to eat up a few more innings. He was around 70 pitches. I would have left him in. This is from the perspective of thinking the Mets have already lost this game.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Neil Walker reminds us, this is Coors... things can change quickly.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 10 hits + 3 walks vs only 8 outs. I'm new to this game but I don't think that's very good. And really it was only 7 batters retired for Verrett since he got one of his outs via an ill-advised caught stealing.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 No Walker kaBOOM exists. Sincerest apologies. It's on a to-do list.Got all the oldies though Ew, Nice play DJ7-2 Collarotto
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Wow, just saw it. That was a good pitch too. Ugh.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 That's a very good question from Gary. That whole umping scene should be more transparent and bad umps should go to the back of the class.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Wow, what a pivot by Story! Damn him and his natural abilities!

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Wow, Wright almost pulled that off. Thats a first from a 3rd baseman for me (throwing to first).
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I'd like a DudaBomb please.....hey, I'll take a DudaLiner if that's all you got.7-3 Boulders

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Geez, if we'd quite hitting into DPs in between all these hits we might actually get something going here.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 A bomb here would be nice tho. And also will tie it.Ugh. Lmayhue
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 LeMahieu been flashin' the skillz tonight...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Rilly sick of Granderson smashing the ball and it getting eaten up by the shift.
