Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 still annoys me that the movie ended that way.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Yeah, well, it annoys me that he pulls a homer to left and we watch lighting fixtures exploding in right. I'M AN AMERICAN CITIZEN AND I DEMAND MY FREE MEDIA BE FREE ALSO FROM CONTINUITY ERRORS.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I like happy endings, so I'm OK with the homer. But, I get that the ball breaks the lightbulb, but what causes all the other bulbs to spark and explode like that? It's s cool visual and all. But would that actually happen? I get that we're suspending disbelief for, like, 90 percent of the movie. Like, what kind of name is Memo?

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 That is THE BEST! The music by Randy Newman, one of the best marriages of music and a movie ever. His soundtrack fit baseball like no other.

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Bartolo's HR deserves its own tattoo, too.[fimg=444]http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0797/7239/files/BartHomeRun_large.jpg?12903782274918146821[/fimg]There are few things in the world less important than a mans word. In this case, a statement was made at the beginning of the season, and it came true.Matt Sassi said to his buddy, Anthony Triola: "If Bartolo Colon hits a home run this year, I'll get a commemorative tattoo". Before the game on Saturday I met them in McFadden's and they told me about this bet. You'd think, ok... that's not happening. Right? WRONG! Coolest part of the bet was that they were both there to witness the feat in person. Matt is a Middletown, NY native that moved to San Diego. What were the odds that Bart would be on the hill the day of our invasion? What are the odds he'd go yard? Slim to damn near impossible. Matt could have chickened out and not gotten it at all, or gotten something small that could easily have been hidden. Instead he went balls to the freakin' wall with pretty much a half sleeve. Tossed THE 7 LINE ARMY on there for good measure and added the date of Bart's now famous swing. You manned up, Matt. Bravo. http://the7line.com/blogs/the-7-line/102055937-bartolo-colon-home-run-tattoo
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Bobblegut.[/bigpurple]Mets' Bartolo Colon gets immortalized in special bobblehead with bobble stomachIn honor of Bartolo Colon's first career , Clark Toys released a special bobblehead commemorating the 42-year-old Mets right-hander's unlikely feat. But this bobblehead has a unique twist: It also features a bobble stomach....The company is now accepting preorders for the Bartolo bobblehead, which is expected to start shipping in the fall. http://www.nj.com/mets/index.ssf/2016/05/mets_bartolo_colon_gets_immortalized_in_special_bo.htmlHope they clear up that newspaper headline.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 That's really just brilliant. And Colon will laugh the hardest.
