Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 1) he's 27, not 282) Injury "Prone" means someone not only has had a lot of injuries but that it's in some way an indication that he's also more likely than most to be injured again in the future. But even if the first part of that statement is true it doesn't prove that the second is also.3) Including a guy in a deal for a CY winner is not the same as "giving up on him"

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I don't think I particularly was. I was defending my position against an unreasonable critique. I apologize if it was less-than charitable. But... "I don't see why you like him so much." What kind of statement is that? I'm a Met fan. Do I need a reason to root for the guy? Has he maliciously hurt anybody? Is there some sort of moral falling in straining his rotator cuff? What sort of hook is he on?You've quit on Plawecki enough also. I don't know why, but you seem to be the first to quit on most everybody. I invite you, with all the friendship and kindness I have, to quit dogging all these guys and enjoy the game, despite all of its uncontrollable vicissitudes. It's one injury, at a position where they have a pretty solid plan B. The Mets rode the storm out last year and it worked out pretty good for them.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I see your point but I did feel humiliated and chopped up.I must have soft skin.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Anything with Travis? We really need him.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Reporting to PSL and speculating a late June return.http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/5250/travis-darnaud
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Getting closer. Yeah!Travis d'Arnaud (shoulder) could begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.D'Arnaud, who has been out since late April with a strained right rotator cuff, resumed baseball activities last week in Florida. The big test will be game action. Assuming he can avoid setbacks, the Mets could send Kevin Plawecki to Triple-A upon his return and keep Rene Rivera as the backup. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Mets set the return d'Ate for on about June 26, according to the Rube. He's 1-5 so far in the FSL, DHing in his first game back.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Well that essentially has to be the target date now that he's started a rehab assignment which has a 20 day limit. The test comes when he starts throwing again.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 You call that "throwing" what he was doing before?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 He will have been out about two months if he makes his date.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I like good usage of the future perfect tense.
