Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 You may be shocked to see me still around, while Niewie and Ceciliani and Recker (swoon!) and Parns are all gonz away. I'm even on the 40-man roster still. Somehow, despite an unproductive 2015, the Mets never lost faith in me, watching the subtler stats that suggested I hit the ball pretty consistently hard, even if they weren't dropping. They sure dropped in when I was with Vegas, though. But I know, that's Vegas. I did have to cool honor of being on the receiving end of Bartolo's behind-the-back flip, though. Were the Mets right in standing by me, at least so far as to keep me around? I don't know. Maybe you do, but that would mean that you're about to say some sooth. Say it![fimg=400:m6bbs1gx]http://static01.nyt.com/images/2014/05/25/sports/mets/mets-videoSixteenByNine1050.jpg[/fimg:m6bbs1gx] [fimg=400:m6bbs1gx]http://41.media.tumblr.com/08a7248a30ba0421d070619d3c0caa03/tumblr_inline_nons7qJnLm1r9qiw6_1280.jpg[/fimg:m6bbs1gx][fimg=400:m6bbs1gx]http://metsmerizedonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/eric-campbell2.png?6c20df[/fimg:m6bbs1gx] [fimg=400:m6bbs1gx]http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/photo/2014/0521/ny_g_camp8_cr_576x324.jpg[/fimg:m6bbs1gx]
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Things fall apart. He'll get some time, for some reason or other. On the plus side, he's equally good with the bat against righties AND lefties. On the minus side, my using "good" in the previous sentence isn't particularly apt diction. Soup's on, to the semi-doleful tune of:68 PA, .245/.328/.391, 1 HR, 4 XBH, 7 R, 6 RBI
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Campbell'll one day, hit the ball so hard, that his shot'll destroy the Citi Field scoreboard. And when that day happens, I'll personally commission a statue of Campbell for the stadium.[youtube:s94n8c3z]OKBpn13P5oQ[/youtube:s94n8c3z]
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 He'll get a job working at one of those places that recycles soda cans. Cause he can't play baseball for shit.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 As long as David Wright is the third baseman, he's a heartbeat away.I dunno, he gets into 38 games, hits a few doubles, whiffs a bit. Gets claimed on waivers by the Rockies when we DFA him in a paper shuffle thing, and he has a decent second half out there.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 The Campbell vs Tejada thread was posted after this one, so I'll answer this one first. You can't argue the flexibility he brings to the lineup. And he can occasionally deliver a key hit. But if he has to play regularly, his deficiencies get exposed. I'm not sure he gats much of a chance this year, with the addition of infielders who play many positions.45 G, 220/ 285/ 320 in 96 AB, possibly released mid year to make room on the roster. Later

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 9, 2016 Author Posted December 9, 2016 I think MFS62 wins this one also, though even he was almost 100 points of OPS too generous.
