Final one of the year - and obviously a biggie as the idea is to get this thing clinched before ever getting back.
Itinerary: Cincy for four. Day off Monday. Philly for three.
Meanwhile the Nats have the extra game remaining (11 games to our 10). They do one more with Baltimore (at 4 this afternoon), then host Philly for three, have a one-game make-up with the Reds on our off-day Monday, then go to Atlanta for three.

Obviously taking five of seven gets us there and should be quite doable. 4-3 clinches a tie even if the Nats manage to run the table. And even 3-4, as disturbing as that would be given the competition, would force them to go 7-1 in order to make the final series meaningful (read: cringe-worthy.).

I don't see the Nats going better than 5-3, but let's start with the Mets just winning tonight. A week of dragging their feet is enough.

Maybe getting out of Dodge is just what this pony needs.

No, no it isn't. At least one more road trip to Los Angeles coming

We need five positive outcomes out of 15 games in order to clinch before the final series. I shouldn't worry, right? Why should I let myself worry?

You shouldn't. You've got street savoir faire.

I can just hear Ahnie as Conan the Barbarian saying,

Hear the lamentations of their women. "

And I like his version much better.

Considering that they just went 7-1 over an eight game span (Miami - Philly - Miami) prior to their two losses to the O's, I don't think 5-3 is something we can count on.

The cinema buff in me is compelled to note that John Belushi is actually yelling "Food Fight!!!!", not "Road Trip!!!"

If this road trip degenerates into a food fight we may be in trouble.

What can I say? You fucked up, you trusted me.

Actually I noticed that too. But when you're looking for is a pic of Belushi yelling you tend to jump on the first thing you find.
IIRC, Belushi was one of several guys who pretty much mouthed 'ROAD TRIP' all at once and so there probably isn't a shot of that.

When they started showing that flick on TV -- like on Channel 11 in NYC -- you figure they'd cut the language and whatnot.
But they also cut that Bluto chugging the Jack Daniels scene. Guess they figured it was a bad influence on impressionable minds.
