Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Wow, that drive had some rise to it. Duda doubles off the top of the extended wall. 2 out. Mayberry.3-2 Mets

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Ha! denDecker sucks. He made a nice catch earlier so he don't totally suck. But just there he sucked out loud.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Insurance please.Thank you Granderson.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Ruben Tejada, nine game hitting streak.Michael Cuddyer, completing a circuit of the bases on foot.Suddenly, all's right with the world.Yeah, right.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Hmmm... 6 to fucking two.Let's leave Parnell out there and save Jeurys for the big moment tomorrow.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Five for 13 tonight with RISP. Over the last ten games prior to tonight, they were 4 for 72 with RISP. That's just daffy.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 I agree with you Edge (Parnell for 2), not the booth. No reason to have Familia out there right now IMO.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Or, alternatively, Robles. But the idea that it puts the bad appearance behind him before they need him in a save situation, that thinking certainly isn't wholly without merit.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Can't find the out of town thread, but Nate Karns for Tampa threw 5 shutout innings and homered for the only run of the game! Mets pitchers - you have been challenged!

Mets pitchers - you have been challenged! That was off Phils Phenom Phitcher Aaron Nola making his ML debut (Nola should pitch for the New Orleans Zephyrs) who pitched pretty well himself: 6 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 1 BB, 6 K. Also hit a single himself
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 from EliasSports- always nice to see the Phillies hit a new low!In 20,223 games in Phillies franchise history, tonight is 1st time they lost a game 1-0 on a HR by the opposing pitcher
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Terry had already PH'd for Parnell (the Cuddyer walk) so he wasn't an option to stay in for the 9th.Certainly could have gone to someone other than Familia once the lead got big but managers tend to dislike getting their closers up and then not bringing them in.I too was thinking of letting deGrom hit but it's tough to argue with even before the result turned out how it did.Nieuwenhuis's hit should have been a hit rather than an error - but he also wasn't running immediately so I'm not going to feel sorry for him on that front.

Plus 1 less inning on Jacob's ledger.
