Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I remember a disastrously failed suisqueeze a few weeks back. Can't remember the last successful one.

Can't remember the last timethe Mets suicide squeezed... anyone?I realize the RBI is one of the old counting stats that has fallen down the list of importance. But, can't someone on this team drive in a fucking run? I was at a birthday party and heard scores from time to time. When they took the 1-0 lead and Familia was coming in I thought "In the bag". Whew! I guess a win is a win. But that's like saying that any landing you can walk away from is a good one. They battled.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Lost in the slow drama is that the Nats lost to the Dodgers, 50, and Washington now has your hitless wonders a mere two games behind them. The Mets head to DC with a chance to take back first place, thought they may not feel like it.Any offensive magic you might have in your hats, it's a good time to pull it out.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 What a game. Napped through innings 1-5, missed 6-9 at the park pool, and 10-15 at home cooking dinner and doing chores, and still managed to catch the last three innings and the win.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Gotta love headlines like these:Mets beat Cards in 18 innings despite stranding 25 runnershttp://news.yahoo.com/mets-beat-cards-18-innings-despite-stranding-25-021135270--spt.htmlThe Mets' total of stranded runners tied the third-most in major league history and they became the first team since Kansas City on June 6, 1991, to leave as many runners on and still win. Only Philadelphia (27) in 1973 and San Diego (26) in 1979 left more runners stranded in a game and both teams lost.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 either the Mets are going to bunch those hits better and score 15 during this next series, or they're going to stop hitting altogether and score 1.
