Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 And Gilmartin walks the leadoff guy on four pitches. Is that throwing in the towel?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Not throwing it in in Baltimore, I tell you what.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I'm all for using your starters out of the pen in an emergency, but there's an argument against it for a team perched in first like the Cards.I still agree with it. Tony Larussa went to position players back in 2007, effectively throwing in the towel, though the Mets still struggled to scratch out a win.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Swinging away in a buntalino situation. OK. Stayed out of the double-play, anyhow.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Granderson has played a full game on his day off.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I have a nagging feeling this will end painfully, but I'll hang. No one should have to suffer thru this alone Edge.1-1 Mets

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 If they continue to do nothing I'm confident we can outlast them at doing nothing.
