Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I checked four different things.I just think he's a complex emotional monster. You need to push all your crap aside to stay focused in there, and he seems to have more crap than most to begin with. And then, with attrition and other realities leaving him the burden of being the anchor or the lineup, that's more than our big bugaboo can bear."A very good player. Not a superstar."
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I checked stuff. The "other" is he needs to have his eyes examined.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I took hiding injury... it can hurt having something up one's assand he should have it removed pronto.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 If there's an injury, it doesn't seem to be showing up on defense.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 True, I almost selected the bitch in SD choice.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I don't think we have enough "select all that apply" polls.I'm hoping he knocks 'em dead and turns his act around on Lucas Duda Growth Chart Poster Day.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I think he'll eventually heat up and he's still doing 1 or 2 good things almost every night but he just looks all fouled up.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Keith said his pitch recognition is poor. Cueto beat him with changeups all night, until he finally laid off them and walked.I said 'hiding an injury' because that seems to be a Metly rite of passage.I said 'plagued by self-doubt' because it appeals to the Existenialist in me.And I said 'needs two or more days off', because he really does look beat.

He was pitching it all over the place, seemed to have no idea what he wanted to throw, slowed way down, had a couple of chats with his catcher, including two during a single interval between pitches. It was like old Pedro up there, but old Pedro would have been stalling in part out of gamesmanship, knowing he had enough for one more batter. Cueto just turned from a fresh Matt Harvey to a wasted lex Torres right there with an 0-2 count on Boo. I thanked God, but I also thank the Met lineup. Even though they weren't scoring, they had least had the virtue of making him work all evening.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 It is hard for the Dude to loom with Wright Murphy and d'Arnaud out.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Didn't he get dinged right in the knee by a pitched ball, right around the same time he started sucking big fat tuna?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I voted: Anyone can have a bad month and Needs two or more days off.Lucas has shown that he can be a streaky hitter, and I think he needs a few days off to get his shit together and rest. Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 His problem is that his whiffs wind up with no exit velocity at all.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I like to read this as a greeting: "What's up, Duda's Ass?!"
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 It's kinda weird that he looks so fouled up of late, since his plate approach-- and ability to lay off/waste stuff that previously tied him in knots-- was the most notably improved part of his game for the first 8-10 weeks of the year. That aside, it's obviously some kind of blackmail.
