Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 The Mets looking like they have no chance to score another run tonight.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Man, this umpie is a pitcher's friend tonight.Redbirds strangely burned their last bench player.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Torres looking to be the losing pitcher while striking out every batter he faces.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I was positive that strikeout was going to end up the winning run.Switching to ESPN. Is SNY crapping out on anyone else?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Wow, what a job by ATorres.SNY thu MLB.tv is okay.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Stupid Time Warner Cable losing picture/signal on both SNY and ESPN
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Mets have given up zero hits in extra innings.Good a time as any for some crazy-assed support. Tejada, you're new to this particular game. How about making a mark? There's some beer in it for you.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I wonder what pct of extra inning games are won by the home team? My guess it that it would be higher than the standard 54% or so games that home teams generally win in baseball but I don't know that I've ever seen a breakdown.I do know that I feel a helluva lot more CAHNfident as the home team in these situations, but I don't know if stats will back up that feeling.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Let's hit into the shift some more. That might work.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Aside from Cuddyer's ground ball single (one AB too late I might add) the last ball NYM bats have gotten out of the infield seems like about two hours ago.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Remaining on the bench for the Mets: Mayberry, Recker.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Wasn't this pitcher one of the teletubbies?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Tuivalala coming in wild. Quickly looking Tuivalostlost.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 How do we not send Campbell 3-and-2?Anywitz, now we're going to put all our chips on a bunt. That's not worked out so well this season.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 On the other hand, is Cud somebody Terry will bunt?NO!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Mayberry after swinging at the first pitch at his ankles: "Just trying to be patient here"
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 On a grounder to short. I'll take it vs. St. Lou. Disappointed they couldn't keep things in order for Harvey, but a wins a win. And this is a big one. They gotta be able to hang with the big boys.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Sat next to a really fun, intelligent Cardinals fan tonight. He may root for the wrong team but it's always nice to have a good baseball conversation at the park.Harvey is awesome.14th inning stretches are fun. Walk off wins are great.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I never got the feeling they were going to find a way to win. Happy to be wrong.Three game win streak!
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I nodded off around the 12th inning, although I dreamed that the Mets won. Most likely because the radio was still on and it entered my subconscious.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I pulled the plug when Harvey got pulled at 105 pitches, grrrrr. Very happy to see the win.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I made it to the end, but will say that had the Mets not scored in the 14th, I would have considered turning in.But I love walk off wins, so extra innings at home always give me that tease.
