Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 ugh. you owe us a run, umps.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Excuse my passion today. If that play, if you can't stand there and catch the ball and tag a guy out they are screwing things up. That perfect baseball play we saw just now is illegal? Was he supposed to catch it in front of the plate and dive into the guy? That's ridiculous.K, done venting.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Part of what's amazing about this winning streak is that they're doing it while going like 1-of-57* in replay reviews even though virtually none of the calls that went against them have had 'clear and convincing' evidence that the call needed reversing (or not).* may not be exactly accurate
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Recker didn't block nuttin'.They were dumbfounded by his sexiness.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Was he called safe because of the new rule? Or because his foot touched the plate before the tag? (It does look like that might have been the case.) I'm half-watching with the sound off so I have no idea what the broadcasters might have had to say about the play.

I thought they said that they don't know for sure yet the "why" of it and will give us that info when they get it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 They eventually learned that it was ruled an illegal block by the Home-Recker.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 That's a damn foolish play by Murphy.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Edgy MD wrote:They eventually learned that it was ruled an illegal block by the Home-Recker.k, thank you, I missed that. I thought they were just speculating. One of these days a catcher will do it the way they want, catch and dive into the runner, and break his neck. Wonder what that'll do to this silly rule.Muffy? Ugh. Well, that's one of those things that Muffys does. Brain fart.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Murphy scorns the easy out and allows the bases to be loaded with none out.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Dumb play by Muffy making things harder.

I think he might have been legitimately safe anyway. That lineout to left for the first out is good news. Maybe they can get Andrelton to GIDP?

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I'm going to assume that they're incapable of losing.Until they do, of course.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I think the best strategy against the Braves is to hit ground balls to second base.
