Whew. I really want the Mets to win but I'm a man of my word, and I am relieved as well as bummed out.

Mets lose. :(
deGrom out pitched & served with his first loss.

Fast game... 2:21 games are not too common these days.
I thought when I turned it on a little after 8 and saw it was
delayed that it was going to be a long night.

Sure glad a pitcher was batting 8th. deGrom dePops out trying debunt.

I'm surprised that Megdal hasn't written a story blaming the lineup on Bernie Madoff.
Or did I miss it?

It moved fast but it didn't feel that way sitting in the cold, especially with the game delayed by an hour for an anticipated rainstorm that never came. The new clock attached to the scoreboard giving the players 2:25 to get ready between innings seemed to get the batter into the batter's box faster. I noticed once or twice that the batter would be swinging near the dugout, look up, and then quickly move to the plate. We were handed a Nationals "rally towel" upon entry. I kept it to wipe the seats except it didn't absorb water (so it allegedly facilitates rallies but doesn't perform towel-like functions). Everyone had the same experience and threw them to the ground in disgust.

Man, there is nothing more useless than a cheap, non-absorbent towel.

Kinda evens our ledger from the other day, no?

The difference was one big hit. It can be a slog when the one big hit that the Nats got was in the first and the Mets spent nine innings within a swing and never getting it.

Duda hit the ball hard to no avail.
