Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2015 Author Posted March 19, 2015 So, that expands the roster of Mets turned rappers to Strawberry, Reyes, Valdy and the "Get Metsmerized" crew of George Foster, Darryl Strawberry (again), Dwight Gooden, Lenny Dykstra, Rafael Santana, Rick Aguilera, Kevin Mitchell, Tim Tuefel, and Howard Johnson.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I don't think this fits in a Rico thread, since he's not in retirement. But the Detroit News has a nice story about Mud Hen -- and former Met -- Mike Hessman, still playing.http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2015/04/17/hessman-still-hit-opening-day-toledo/25927575/OE: Thanks for moving to the right thread!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 Our old buddy Alan Dykstra serves God and man, crushing his first career homer off the screen to turn a 2-0 Yankee lead into a 3-2 deficit.Unfortunately, the rest of the Rays didn't do their part, and Yanks came out on top.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 1-2-3 inning for Ike. Went out and closed 3 bars afterward I hear.In the boxscore I noticed one of the Angels relievers was rookie Cam Bedrosian, son of Steve.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 So hard drinking' Ike is doing all right for himself out in Oakland: .314/.380/.443, though just one HR and is in a strict platoon situation - just 4 ABs vs LHP all year. But Oakland itself is having a tough time: 9-14 though losing some tough games as they're +13 in RS/RA to date and Pythag sez they should be more like 13-10.So on those two notes, Ike comes up in the bottom of the ninth last night, facing tough closer Huston Street, A's down by one, 2 outs, bags loaded, deep drive to CF ... and he's gets 'Trout-ed'http://m.mlb.com/news/article/121577536/mike-trouts-game-saving-catch-keeps-los-angeles-angels-at-500

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Blaine Boyer goes on the Twins' DL. For that to happen, Blaine Boyer had to have been a Twin. Thought Blaine Boyer had been inactive since the Mets jettisoned (or Mettisoned) him in 2011. Didn't pitch in the majors in 2012 or 2013. Was briefly a Padre last year. Was a fairly active Twin this year.Go figure.

Taking on the final years of that backloaded contract, without having had the benefit of the less expensive early years (and the younger Jose) doesn't make any sense at all.
