Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 He can probably afford coke unlike a lot of minor leaguers.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Were we aware of the first offense?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I think for 'drugs of abuse' (read: recreational rather than performance enhancing) the initial slip-up is kept quiet so the player can 'seek help for his problem' without the surrounding noise.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 What a terrible time for him. With Dilson already having leapfrogged him at the end of last season, and a handful of real infield prospects coming up behind him.Stop going to raves, LJ!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Can't find anything but feel like I remember hearing about the initial suspension.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 He got nearly 600 PAs this year (in essentially April-Aug leagues) and over 300 in his short-season stint in '13 so he certainly didn't miss any time. It's possible that word leaked out about a possible positive test before this one but even then there wouldn't have been any suspension time involved because this doesn't appear to involve PEDs
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Being a Mazzilli keeps one high all the time, so that's strike one, according to the CBA.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 He's slicker than his daddy's hair.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 There's a lot of harsh going around.I don't think we know the substance of Mazzilli's grand jury testimony. He wasn't called to testify at the trial.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Well, thanks. It's been nine years; the swelling in my head has mostly subsided by now.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 2014 Cyclone Brandon Welch joins LJ in the suspension chamber.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I really hope he didn't room with Conforto, Urena, or Marcos Molina.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Baby Mazz returns to St. Lucie, going 2-4 with a two-run homer in his first game back.He might well be knocking on the big league door by now without that suspension.
