Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Why was Wright wremoved? Was he hurt, or is Terry resting him because of the big lead?

The DooBoo was way outta there. I'll be pretty thrilled if Duda hits 30. That would be sweet. I shouldn't get ahead of myself, but for next season I'm putting him down for 40+.

Terry as recently as this morning insisted Wright's shoulder was ok.

Glad it was called a hit but come on, one step to the 2nd basemans right. Was a freakin rocket tho.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Wow, well I'll be damned. Triple play.

That's a dumb move if you were UP by 5 runs. Down by 5 it's positively moronic.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 A five-run lead was on the verge of becoming 2 or 3 (or worse) just a few minutes ago.But now, thanks in large part to Puig, it's a seven run lead that's looking a whole lot like it could be nine real soon.NYM win pct odds just nudged themselves about 60% for this game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Yasiel Puig is a force of nature. You can flee from it, you can submit to it, or maybe you can try to channel it for brief instants. But it's folly to think you can control it.Duda going through the 5-6 hole and then d'Arnaud going the other way later in the inning thrills me even more than the homer surge.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 First hit since 2008 for Buddy Carlyle.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Speaking of firsts, Miguel Rojas' MLB debut as an outfielder.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 EY steals bases and, occasionally, homers.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Wow. EYoung goin all leathery. Thought that was a goner. Didn't think he had a chance to even touch it. Niiiice.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 We were out to dinner when I saw the triple play - it was the first triple play that I ever saw live!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 That made for a nice Sunday evening. What was Gary saying at the end about Murph and a muscle?26 Homers for The Doo Bird. That's encouraging.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 How can Du-wop be having this awesome second half and the rest of the team coming up craps? He's had good second acts before, hasn't he?
