Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Speaking of shifts, teams should take all three of their OFs and plant them in LCF, LF, and the LF corner whenever Chris Young in up.It's not like they give up any hits doing that and they may just save themselves a bunch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Gee and Niese need to be told that there's about to be a wild scrum for the Mets rotation slots.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 It's just plain weird how far Davis has played off the line on the last two CYoung at-bats.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Every Brewer run came after two were out tonight.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Probably tried to get too much out of Torres here.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 And a pretty weak throw from Murph. I think he had the time to make a more assertive throw.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Cripes. Out by 3 feet. The ump sucks.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 I'm wondering if Niese is going to say something after the game.Between the quick hook tonight, the one where he got yanked after getting winged by that line drive, and the unwanted DL stint just prior to the ASB, I have a feeling he's not exactly a happy camper right about now and might be ready to go off the reservation to say so.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 There are some construction crews working outside a fashion runway session that don't do as much looking as NYM batters have tonight.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Gah! Braun robbing Muffy! A cruel ending.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 We brought the young one to her first Mets game tonight. She got antsy, so we left after the Brewers took the lead in the 5th (it was longer than we were expecting her to hold out). The best part of the night was meeting the Lunchbucket fam vacationing in Wisconsin. We all did a little tailgating prior to the game. Meeting them was a blast and I will gladly tailgate with anyone from the Crane Pool coming to Wisco. My seats were right next to the WPIX camera from high above home plate and I'm pretty sure my baby and I got on TV at the beginning of the second inning. I'm blacked out until 90 minutes after the game, so I'll have to review in the morning.Let's split tomorrow.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Great time. Couldn't have gone better meeting the Monk family, love our fancy hotel room, terrific seats at the ballpark, caught a t-shirt and got on big-screen as backgrounders in the late innings. But spent the whole night locked in disagreement with douchy smug visiting Mets fan seated in front of us who believed firm;ly that pathagorean wins were fiction, that Wagner and Rodriguez were good investments, that Eric Young should play everyday, and so on. Geez. I had NO IDEA that the key to brats was the boil.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 It's all about the boil. MLB.TV cut all but a millisecond of my daughter's small screen debut. I was trying to get her to look in the camera, but she wanted to see what was happening down below. Gary points out her rapt attention prior to plugging fireworks night.
