Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 It was moderately popular last year, so we'll try it again this year. IPP stands for Individual Player Predictions. These will be threads where we share our expectations of how a player will perform in the current year. Feel free to make your predictions as specific or as vague as you like. (You can find a listing of the 2013 IPPs here.)Last one for today.I think John Lannan will end up third in line for the fifth starter position, behind Mejia and Matsuzaka. He'll start the season in Las Vegas, and may never make it to Flushing at all. If he does, I'll say three starts, three relief appearances.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I don't see him getting more than 5 appearances for the Mets. Later
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Gets some long relief time and 1 spot start in a double header in which the Mets lose 18-4.27 IP 4.64 ERA, 15 Ks
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Rolls high in Vegas, hits it in June with an injury to Gee or Dice-K, doesn't do much to stick.7 G, 5 GS, 31 IP, 1-2 W-L, 4.68 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 17 K, 4.9 K/9, 3.2 BB/9
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I see him as getting both starts and relief appearances, and probably more of the latter.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 This year's Carlos Torres. Long guy, occasional start, spends most of his time spitting sunflower seeds in the bullpen. A couple of wins and ERA around 4.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Makes the team as a long reliever/spot 6th starter and does decently, giving the Mets 80 IP and a 3.70 ERA.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 He'll make you forget all about Brian Lawrence, Nelson Figueroa, Jorge Sosa and Aaron Harang.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Had a good outing today. Might have been all goose eggs if Wright didn't err.Other than that this guys future is a big ? to me.Middle relief, sweeping up seeds and blow outs.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 With Leatherface and Edgin already whacked, looks like the Second Lefty/Long Relief Man has been found. And he has been pretty good this spring.
