Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 It was moderately popular last year, so we'll try it again this year. IPP stands for Individual Player Predictions. These will be threads where we share our expectations of how a player will perform in the current year. Feel free to make your predictions as specific or as vague as you like. (You can find a listing of the 2013 IPPs here.)I think Curtis Granderson will have a nice year for the Mets. .255, 26 homers, 95 rbi. If the Mets don't win 90 games, it won't be his fault.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Gary Cohen who is not prone to hyperbole mentioned inn one of the early Spring Training games that NO PLAYER in his opinion had ever made a better first impression that Granderson.....there is no stat for that ......275 - 26 hr - 102rbi . I think he is going to be great
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 .265- 31- 102.And fewer than 170 Ks. (less than what MFY fans are saying)Later
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 my bet with my boss was .261 31 HR 111 RBI .261/.345/.488 (nearly his career line) 18 SB. 3 triples. 163 Ks
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Better than Beltran. Better than Ellsbury! TATTOO IT ON YOUR FACE
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Fast start, VERY slow June/early-July. Better, if normalized second half. He'll be fun to root for. Not so much fun to watch when he's making wind like he's the Greek God of Zephyrs, Typhoons, and Wet Farts, but, hey, No Bay!144 G, 605 PA, .245/.342/.468, 71 R, 26 HR, 83 RBI, 10 SB, 50 XBH
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 He'll do okay. 25/90/.270.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 .245 / 25hr / 85rbi - 175k, and everybody will be glad to have it.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 After seeing him a bit:.283 / 33 kaBOOMs / 101 RBIYep, it's a thin line.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I'll be unoriginal and agree with Vic.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 and allow me be the first to agree with smg

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I'm concerned , he looks kind of shit in the early going.

He was there for several years. You can't just scrape that crap off in one off season. Takes a little time to wear off. He's probably still waking up in the middle of the night with Jeter intangible sweats. His soul has been scarred. Give him time.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Granderson since May 1st:164 ABs, 47 Hits, 8 2Bs, 1 3B, 9 HRs, 34 BBs, 45 Ks -- .287/.399/.512 // 911

And i'm glad to have it.But he's hitting leadoff more now, so while his RBIs will probably not reach projections, his RS will exceed them [probably in the 90/RS range].Plus, he's got the whole towel-waving thing to his credit.so there's that.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 It looks like everyone who posted in this thread has turned out to have been overly optimistic. At this point, we can only hope that he'll take a page from Carlos Beltran's book and have a much better second season with the Mets.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 My fear is that he takes a page from Jason Bay's book instead......
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Hope and fear, man. We all got plenty of acreage of both. But where you gonna build your house?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Curtis can make up for it next season....
