Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Ringo pitched like he drummed: southpaw. Paul, on the other hand, played guitar and bass lefty but batted righthanded. Who does he think he is? Cleon Jones?

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 SoakiesBath time isn't quite the same without your cartoon buddies! The most well known bubble bath container's name, Soaky is now generally applied to bath soap containers from all manufacturers. You'll find some great character items in this category and it is a must browse for any completist collector worth his/her salt!"Soaky" is actually a brand name (Colgate-Palmolive) that has been used freely as a general term for any figural (usually cartoon) bubble bath/soap container. These containers had their heyday in the 60's though there are examples from the 50's as well. The containers are figural and usually made of plastic with the head of the cartoon character hiding the screw cap. Exceptions to this design include those with just a screw cap at the top of the container above the full body and those with figural rubber sleeves in the shape of the body that simply slipped over the generic bottle. These are indeed a collectible in their own right but also cross over in many areas due to the massive amounts of characters represented. As with every collectible, condition plays a role as does original packaging and, to a lesser extent, soap contents in tact.Bath time isn't quite the same without your cartoon buddies. Includes Palmolive and other figural soap containers depicting classic characters.Ezrsywf38KU NgzxdSTHrEs [fimg=444]http://www.landlcollectables.com/catalog/images/SuperHeroes//refSBBatRobx2SoakyProSmall.jpg[/fimg]Two of the most sought after and collectible Soakies are Colgate's Paul and Ringo bubble bath bottles. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Me too. This 'as hard. Would have liked a larger field of subjects.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I apologize, but I have to fold. I can't get any of the 'morepopular' songs to work with anything and I'm just not familiarenough with whole albums as I might have been 30 years agoto use something else.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I submitted two songs, because I like to overachieve when it comes to utterly wasting perfectly good time. Put d'Kong's name on one of them and we're good.

Guest sharpie Guests Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Some of us have at least managed to come up with something (not a clue, I didn't use "Something.") Was harder than I had thought since I'd used Beatle songs three times in past contests so those songs were out for me and had written about one of the subjects so he was out for me.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 An open field would be glorious.Dear Fred or NelsonWill you cut loose Cook? It's been years and yearsNow he needs the hookA lefty specialistIs no big dealYou can demote John FrancoAnd bring him on in relief of Al LeiterRELIEF OF AL LEITER!
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 My two-cents: It would not be fair to those who have laboredsuccessfully to give the others who have not more content to chose from at this late juncture.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Oh soitenly. But in general, subject pool was too small from the start and should be opened up wider for the following rounds.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I agree, open subject final round(s).

Guest sharpie Guests Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Down with rain delays. Post what has been submitted. If 4/9 or 4/7 of the songs move on, then so be it. It has been extended once and that is enough.
