Chris Capuano, he who ate innings adequately in 2011, will reportedly tie on the bib and attempt to gobble 'em up for the Red Sox in 2014 not by way of the ever-popular minor league deal but an actual MLB contract. You may recall the Sox tried to buy Caps (as one of our U.K. readers liked to call him) with about a week to go the season they collapsed.

That happened to me once, at Joshua Tree Park in California. The spines of the cactus went through the sole of my sneaker and also through the sides. I had to sit down and pull each one out of my foot and out of my sneaker.

I suppose that's one of the perils of training in Arizona. Better to train in Florida, where the worst thing you can step on is an alligator.
