Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 This game could use a Dodgers walk-off, just to keep the Cardinals from getting uppity.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I'm becoming in favor of a rule change where the manager/pitching coach gets one free visit to the mound per game and then each successive trip to the mound requires a pitching change. As it is now the bench is allowed one trip per inning which, under current conditions, can mean 8-10 trips per game as each reliever used gets two visits: one for strategy/stalling and one for removal. I realize that this would probably just result in increased visits to the mound by catchers instead whenever they wanted to stall, but it would at least be a start.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 That's life Puig. Get used to it.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 It's a good thing Puig celebrated that triple so hard yesterday because I think that was his only hit this week.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Cards have scored a total of EIGHT runs over four games yet have a 3-1 lead.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Stupid Dodgers getting what they deserve, and they don't deserve anything. Those 2 innings from Withrow were probably the worst 2 scoreless innings I've seen all year. Dumb guys getting picked off 2nd, hitting into DPs on 2-0 counts. Hell with 'em.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 IIRC, Charlie Finley once installed a clock (when the A's were in Kansas City) to show the time between pitches and MLB made him take it down.Later
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Going down 1-3 makes Juan Uribe sad.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 It ain't over 'till the movie stars cry.Later
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Bases loaded with Cardinals against Greinke but Yadier F. Molina grounds into a double play and no runs score.

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 The Dodgers need to let the dancing bear come back if they want to win.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 When a pitcher drives in a run, it might be his day. LA up 2-0 after 2.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Or it might not be. I missed all that scoring. Gah. Beltraan? 2-2.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Or maybe I was right....3-2 Blue.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Series returns to St. Loo. I still predict Dodgers in 7.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Holy crap:http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2013/10/17/cardinals-growing-weary-of-dodgers-dont-care-for-antics/3005639/The Cardinals' mission is clear:Beat the Dodgers, and send them back to Disneyland, where their escapades can be appreciated. The Cardinals will take the stage at the World Series, representing the National League, and reminding the baseball world that old-school tradition remains alive and well."This is a big responsibility,'' Matheny says, "we've got a lot to take care of.''
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 This hot shot show off would never pass muster in St. Louis.Oh wait....
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 "Remain calm, folks! Remain calm! The Cardinals have won the game and it will be celebrated in restrained and dignified manner." - Jack Buck
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Cardinals fans boo Adrian Gonzalez in a polite and refine manner. They didn't even need prompting from the scoreboard.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 The best player in postseason history doubles but is stranded by his red bird brethren.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 2-0, gah, missed last few. Beltraan again?! Oh, and Molina and it's still going on.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 That's it Puig. Allow em to blow it open.
