I say that every year.

Well, it's TRUE!

It's just, sometimes the reckoning is easier than other times.

Yes. It's always potentially true, so why the heck not?

Oh, well that eases my mind.

And if not the year after next year, well, after that, the sea levels will have risen and the rich will all live on the moon while the poor struggle just to survive, by which time, who will care what I predicted?

And the Mets will play on Mercury.

Russo's former partner has bigger issues on his plate.

There's a couple of moments there where he really inhabits Mike, just in the mannerism and patterns. Pretty good impression for a guy who doesn't really look or sound like the guy he's imitating.

Saw Russo at Citi Field the day Wheeler made his home debut, just a regular guy with pretty good field level seats. Guess he came to see the pitching prospect his team gave up. Mets lost, 13-2, so he didn't see much out of Zack.

Francesa yesterday on the Indians " look, a team that won 92 games and there is not one good player on the roster, not one".

I didn't fact check games won or the roster, but damn.

My point in starting the thread was mostly sarcasm but its always nice when someone in the mainstream media starts to see and believe what you think you see as well.

Also that 'Mike Zaun 1776' is brilliant. He shoulda fallen asleep though.

As was predicted.

I would not be surprised if that fuzzy screencap is the only image to survive from that night.

That Rickey shot is a fake ... photoshopped or something.

Um, yeah.

I just thought it was funny.

Well ... it isn't so obvious that the Rickey pic is a fake. Throughout the Mercury game, Mets players would appear on the Diamond Vision scoreboard, their faces altered to appear as part human, part alien or extra-terrestrial. But your pic is not how Rickey was presented on the Diamond Vision scoreboard for that game.

RUSSO WAS THE FANTERN?

Sorry, couldn't resist an inside joke on another Met forum where a member declared that the Mets would win the 2007 division that final Friday of the regular season, and Saturday by the latest.

Russo also said that the Mets were being cheap for only paying Collins $1 million a year. He said something like "he's the manager of a New York team, pay him like a New York manager."

isn't that such a Russo thing to say?, based on nothing more than location, never mind the team is crap.

It is something very common though among NYC based hosts, thinking that the biggest media markets demand the best.

Among the arguments include comparing a dinner theater in Kansas City to being on Broadway, the idea that Alex Rodriguez in Texas was akin to buying the Mona Lisa and keeping it in your garage, etc.

There's a marketplace out there that fixes a specific price for a Terry Collins throughout baseball. The only reason the Mets should pay more without getting more would be nuttiness. I like Terry as a dude, but the team is operating in the red.
