soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 That your New York Mets will be a force to be reckoned with next year, the year after at the latest.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 I say that every year.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Yes. It's always potentially true, so why the heck not?

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Chris Russo is an idiot, but I hope he's right.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 There's a couple of moments there where he really inhabits Mike, just in the mannerism and patterns. Pretty good impression for a guy who doesn't really look or sound like the guy he's imitating.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 That's where I am. He falls into it quite nicely. The illusion is spiritual, as much as visual or auditory.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Saw Russo at Citi Field the day Wheeler made his home debut, just a regular guy with pretty good field level seats. Guess he came to see the pitching prospect his team gave up. Mets lost, 13-2, so he didn't see much out of Zack.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Francesa yesterday on the Indians " look, a team that won 92 games and there is not one good player on the roster, not one".I didn't fact check games won or the roster, but damn.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 My point in starting the thread was mostly sarcasm but its always nice when someone in the mainstream media starts to see and believe what you think you see as well. Also that 'Mike Zaun 1776' is brilliant. He shoulda fallen asleep though.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 With Russo saying this and Piazza having the team in his prayers daily things are looking up.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Um, yeah.I just thought it was funny.

Throughout the Mercury game, Mets players would appear on the Diamond Vision scoreboard, their faces altered to appear as part human, part alien or extra-terrestrial. But your pic is not how Rickey was presented on the Diamond Vision scoreboard for that game.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Russo also said that the Mets were being cheap for only paying Collins $1 million a year. He said something like "he's the manager of a New York team, pay him like a New York manager."

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Which makes little sense.Regarding the Francessa video, Why does Cornwallis sound like Geoffrey Holder?

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 uh, still not getting it, can you give me a few more analogies Steve?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 There's a marketplace out there that fixes a specific price for a Terry Collins throughout baseball. The only reason the Mets should pay more without getting more would be nuttiness. I like Terry as a dude, but the team is operating in the red.
