Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 What do you think? Batting 7th?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Mets.com says he's wearing 15. Seems to be a brutal blow against the already shaky case for Beltran number retirement. And an evocation of Jerry Grote.Hopefully he hits better than young Jerry did.

You'd think they'd be able to get the manufacturer to make a proper letter for him -- especially since there are two other lower-case d guys in he system. Edited August 17, 2013 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 In the house to wish him luck tonight are fellow possessive-prefix Mets Jeff D'Amico, Mike DeJean, John DeMerit, Joe DePastino, Mike DiFelice, Jack DiLauro, and Jerry Dipoto. O'Brien, O'Connor, O'Day, and O'Malley also making the trip.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 All in the name of replacing PB - Thole.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 They ought to drive him to the park in a DeLorean.Mets.com says he's wearing 15.I approve. The only thing better, IMO, would have been 8.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Fun fact: Decker's first name is Jaff.Yeah, yeah, that may sound dumb, but it's short for "Jaffypull." (Family name.)
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I keep confusing Jaff Decker with Jeff Dacker.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Flores, d'Arnaud, Lagares, Mejia. There may be a lot of future in this starting lineup tonight.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Kind of has a Charles Bronson/Robert Blake look.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Is it my TV or is there some strange noise in the background of tonight's broadcast? Sounds like vuvuzela night or something
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Tie score here in the 3rd. slow moving game.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Now a lengthy injury delay for Mejia.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Not a good goldtending day for Davis.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Mejia spiked the first two pitches of the 4th inning and left with what looks like elbow discomfort. He was not as sharp overall tonight and sporta looked uncomfortable from the start. I'm pretty sure we see him next in March. Now Aardsma getting bopped around. Game almost 2 hours old in the 4th inning.

Hope I get too see him...I read just up for this series. Why would they not keep him up? I wanna see d' play.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Volquez is weird. He's always moving --- twitching and stomping around the mound --- but takes his time actually toeing the rubber and throwing the ball.Big two-out hit for Ike.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Well, at least Flores could comfortably get himself to second on that hit.
