Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Jon Niese returns to action after a DL stint that started as cold-weather-related stiffness turned to tendonitis turned to a rotator cuff tear.Opposing him will be his mortal enemy Sprull! No defense against that pitch! Look at him bringing it from below his hip. Righthanded, too!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Oh yea, we have another Hawkman. He returns tomorrow? Kool beans.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 It takes a brave man to pitch with a torn labia.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Well played...I hope Niese's labia doesnt fall off..
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 And in other news this dude at CBS speculates..via..Terry..that Wright is done for the year..http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/eye-on-baseball/23096865/terry-collins-says-david-wright-may-miss-rest-of-season
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Heard on WFAN that to make roster room for Hawkman, they "deactivated" Heffner, to send him back to NY for some medical tests. No DL yet.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I have no idea what "deactivated" means. I've certainly never heard of it as an official roster move.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 Ike Davis, walking maniac, helps load the bases for Baxter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 Wow! A three-run E3 is a rare site.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Wow. 3 run error for Goldy. Ha! He sucks, sucks, sucks!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Ha! I won't say Prado sucks but I will laugh at him. Oh, he should have stopped that but no error on the play.4-0 Mets
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 You know, when you hire Steve Sax to coach your infielders, don't come looking to me for sympathy.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Nice first-inning cushion for Niese's labia.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 With a four run lead I guess I don't want to see Young go through the outfield wall, but I think that was catchable.4-1
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Cody Ross down and hopefully out. Tripped over first base. Ha.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 Hopefully to me, he's OK. But it looks like no.I wonder if hammies tend to go pop more frequently at this time of year.

Just get him the hell off the field please.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 Squeaky clean rookie making his debut at first now.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I closed my eyes for a few minutes and woke up to a 4-0 Mets lead. That was some nice nap!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I stepped off and I'm greeted with Niese at second base, 2 out. Summary says: Jon Niese singles on a ground ball to left fielder Martin Prado.Oh, I see, he was moved in the Cody incident.Neise stranded at 2nd
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 Another Ike hit highlights a third-inning one-run rally. Inning ends with Baxter thrown out at the plate, but it was a good send, considering the pitcher was on deck with two outs.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Baxter a dead duck at the plate. Nice try. Worth going for it with Niese up next. But we all knew he wasn't going to make it unless someone screwed up. No one did.Ike scored on the Q single, which was a nice line drive to center.5-1 Mets
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 And now we have the 4th guy thrown out on the basepaths in this series - but, unlike the others where in each case I was screaming NOOOO! as soon as the runner made the turn, I liked this chance. Already had the lead, pitcher due up, running on the pitch, etc.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 The only downside was a seriously spazzy slide sending his reconstructed shoulder into harm's way.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Ump lets him yak over a strike 3 call. For a little longer than I would have.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 This guy Hill is a pain in the ass.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 Funny to see Laggy put the breaks on there. Looks like Terry got through.
