Do you suppose that Mike Piazza's Mets HOF induction day is just another excuse for the team to wear the hideous black drop shadow unis? Okay, maybe not just another excuse -- that's a bit harsh and overly sarcastic, and a disservice to the awesome Mets legend of Mr. Mike.. But do you suppose that the Mets will break out their sartorial black mistakes on Piazza day? Which uni will the Mets wear on Piazza day? Poll closes in three weeks. So vote early. Yeah, I bet they do bust out the black jerseys, at least for a day.

I think they will wear the snow whites with the drop shadow. This remains my favorite jersey they had.

The black jerseys are definitely a possibility, and I wouldn't have an objection to that. I think I am one of the few that had no problem with the black jersey. I agree with the decision to hang them up since their time had passed, but it was a sign of the times, and I thought it was cool to mix things up for a while.

Considering we have the two-tone orange/blue hat this year, I think worse mistakes have been made.
