Duda seems like the closest to trading high. But if the right pitcher/outfielder/shortstop is available, I guess I tell my trading partner to take their pick.

trade whichever brings the most; if it's the same return, trade both of them and play Satin until some of the other kids are ready. If you can only trade one, trade Davis because i just can't stand watching him play anymore.

Where's "Trade Both"?
Flores(1B) and Puello (RF) will both be ready to become regulars by next year.
Use the D boys as trade chips to upgrade the rest of the roster.

Ike has already matched his vote total from last year.

And, just to take a bow: Me, Irish, Fafif, and ?? were the only Ike-booters last year.

Fianlly, not be a douche about this, but If you want to gauge interest in trading both guys, go start a poll about that. The question currently on the board is which one of the two. Enough of this can't-commit-to-a-made-up-scenario bullshit.

I like how they use breakdancing to save the rec center from the evil real estate conglomerate. Ike can pop and lock like no one's business.

No one would take Davis, and Duda is never going to be anything special. Davis will either turn it around, or be out of baseball, like what's-his-name -- that slugger for the Indians with the green hair?

Sticking with my Ike-boot of 2012, even though, as I said at the time, my Ike affinity outpaces anything I feel for Duda. Duda won't disappoint us because what was anybody really expecting from him? It feels as if Ike will never live up to his early promise and we're going to keep waiting for something to turn around for him. Let him come back in four years when we're on the verge of the World Series as Mazz did and Ike can come off the bench and wallop a pinch-homer for the club that signed him way back when. It's forgotten in the mists of Mazz nostalgia that Lee had a horrible 1981 and was probably (though one couldn't say definitively) never going to live up to his 1979-80 good self. A change (and time) did him good and makes him sparkle in our rearview mirror. So that's my template for Ike redemption.

I loved Ike and Tejada in 2010. I'm ready to move on from them in 2013. I learn again how results-driven fandom can make a fella.

More than a bit speculative.

Except not in Davis or Duda, apparently.

Earlier in this season (maybe in the prediction thread) I wrote that "Davis and Duda would become the most outstanding pair of Ds seen on a baseball field since Morgana". I still hope they can turn their careers around and approach that goal.
But if they can't, which is the topic of this thread, and must be traded to improve the team, why can't they be replaced with a new pair for whom I have high hopes?

They certainly CAN, in fact they can be replaced by anyone of a number of options. The part you're being cautioned on is the claim that Puello & Flores; "will both be ready to become regulars by next year".
Davis & Duda have already achieved ML regular status yet many have decided that they no longer "gotta believe" in them. Thinking that a pair of untested rookies will both not only be able to fill in but presumably improve on what we're getting now is a bit of the 'grass is always greener' theory being applied.

Besides, the purpose of the thread is to make you choose between which you'd jettison.

I didn't say they couldn't be replaced. They can be replaced by any number of players.

But the topic of the thread isn't "if they can't." The topic is which you'd rather see dealt if your choice was trading one and keeping the other.

(OE: or what FK sez.)
