Actually, I really miss those trips. And it sure was a lot easier on the team to be in the same time zone for ten days. AL teams would similarly do an Anaheim/Oakland/Seattle trip.

Usually, one of the two annual West Coast swings would include a stopover in Houston or Chicago on the way home and so add up the team's longest road trip of the year.

Part of the reason I have hope for the second half is that they can put a lot of that shart behind them, and spend most of the rest of the season in the Eastern Time Zone, but I imagine the schedule will be getting better for a lot of teams, and they still have one more wicked swing.

Tuesday, Aug 6, vs COL 7:10 pm

Thursday, Aug 8, vs COL 12:10 pm
Friday, Aug 9, @ ARI, 9:40 pm
Saturday, Aug 10, @ ARI, 8:10 pm
Sunday, Aug 11, @ ARI, 4:10 pm
Monday, Aug 12, @ LAD, 10:10 pm

Saturday, Aug 17, @ SDP, 8:40 pm

Monday, Aug 19, @ MIN, 2:10 pm
Tuesday, Aug 20, vs. ATL, 7:10 pm
Wednesday, Aug 21, vs. ATL, 1:10 pm

That's 16 games in 16 days against six opponents in five cities in four time zones, including a one-day barnstorm.

I'm setting the over/under for total innings on that trip at 158.
And the extra innings will probably be the day games that follow night games.
Any takers?
