Eric Young apparently has a part-time job guarding the popcorn machine in the left field concourse.

Right? Playing no-doubles with two out/none on?

Anyway, it's kind of comforting knowing that Andres Torres is playing in this game, and that it's not for the Mets.

No doubles defense --- a one-run-prevention strategy that Eric Young likes to call "defense."

Extra innings are brought to me by Wendy's, I believe.

A google search for stick figure baseball served up this. Anyone care to give me a play by play? I have no clue whats going on there.

A Pence family softball game?

That time he wasn't humped by the ump.

Sorry. Bruce Bochy appeared and I started looking up quotes from "So I Married an Axe Murderer."

Everything's relative-- that was the closest thing to a strike on which he's been punched out tonite.

Heckuva job, Brownie.

Anyway, a tweet from Rubin:

Fascinating from ESPN alum Steve Glasser: In the innings this season Harvey begins with his pitch count already at 100, he has a 43.20 ERA.

Aardsma seems like it should scan into George M. Cohan's song 'Harrigan,' but it really doesn't.

Aardsma uses the flexi-zone to his advantage.

The arc of the Hamari strike zone is long, but it bends toward justice.

Aardsma strikes me more as, say, a Tool b-sides album, or a lost Sigur Ros-Bjork collaboration.

Does it include the Unplugged version of 'Sober?'

Between the length and the strike zone, this game is giving me Ike Davis eyes.

And-- hey! Speak of the squinty!

Dammit. That was the pitch, on 2-1. Tailing over the middle.
