Are you in the 12% of the USA that will get to see the Mets game on Saturday night? It's a pivotal battle between a fourth place team and a fifth place team so you can understand why it's one of FOX's choices for the game of the week. They think so much of this game that it's only on in four parts of the country. And look at that fantastic announcing crew!

A smart network would showcase Puig but they are not.

Atlanta Braves at Philadelphia Phillies Thom Brennaman & Tom Verducci, Citizens Bank Park Philadelphia, PA
37% MARKETS INCLUDE: Atlanta, Baltimore, Birmingham, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Detroit, Greensboro, Greenville, Jacksonville, Knoxville, Louisville, Memphis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Richmond, St. Louis, Washington

Watching on Fox, and listening to Howie and Josh instead of Two and a Half Morons. The XM feed is so far behind that Young had struck out and it was 2-1 on Murphy before the audio of the first pitch. I have it pretty well synced up now.

I got Howie on the radio but I'm doing other stuff. When he yells he gets my attention.

Mowed the lawn and listened to the first few innings on my iPhone/XM. Howie and Josh were pretty rough on Marcum's ability to slow the game to a crawl with runners on base.

Came in and watched the Fox broadcast for the rest of the game. Their announcers were awful.

I changed the thread title to make it "all things MLB on FOX" related as the Mets have another FOX game this Saturday.

FOX probably decided that, since they were lucky enough to get a Met game on the day of a Harvey start, they'd assign some good announcers and good markets to the game.
Only problem is, once they found out that Harvey is being pulled on account of the blisters, they all hurled themselves out of windows.

Any reason for the 3PM start?

Doesn't matter to me, but the fact that it's at 3PM means it screws up the TV rights for all games that are not on FOX as both the 1 PM local starts and 4 PM local starts get screwed by being in FOX's exclusivity window. The Yanx, for instance, aren't on TV at all today (heh, heh) plus several others.

Looking now at the TV grid on my cable system I see that FOX has human cockfighting on their docket for tonight so maybe they were afraid that a 4 PM start that goes extra innings ran the risk of cutting into that all important property as told MLB they wanted the games moved up.

According to the forum at the 506.com, it's because of the UFC. Nice of Selig to allow FOX free reign to do this which leads to all of the blackouts. One poster explained:

The rule generally is that the FOX blackout window is from 3 hours before the start time until 3 hours after the the start time. That's normally from 1-7 PM ET. But, since FOX moved their games an hour ahead, the blackout window is from noon to 6 PM ET, at least for EI. That's what I would guess. And, MT games are never in the afternoon on Saturdays when FOX has games in the afternoon. Only one team is in that time zone (Rockies), and they schedule around the blackout window, usually with a start time of 8 PM ET.

At 6 PM my local Fox affiliate cut to a rerun of "30 Rock," despite the fact that the Mets game was scheduled to resume at 6:15. Thanks, fuckers.

The Baseball Game of the Week got moved due to the UFC? Who watches that crap? People that believe that wrestling is real?

that's as bad as when the Marlins moved a game versus the Mets for a Flo Rida concert...

Mine never came back from the rain delay either. It went to another game and then the news.
Hey Fox, if you're gonna show the game and do all that blackout shit, show the entire game, you assholes.

The decision not to resume the game after the rain rests with the individual affiliates not the network. That gives those without a local team in the fight an excuse to drop out when a game runs over the allotted time in favor of already-paid-for reruns or for local news which is a big money maker for local stations.

Fuck you FOX. I swear by all that is orange and blue if you black me out of that game I will never watch another sporting event on your station ever.

Cept the world series and only if the Mets are in it.
