Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Gee vs. J-Zimm. Let's hope the Mets bullpen all gets lost on the way to the park today.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I agree-- Dillon Gee can blow leads without outside help, thankyouverymuch.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 This is Dillon Gee's last stand as far as I'm concerned. I know what you're thinking: Laffey and Heffy! But those guys are supposed to suck. Gee allegedly doesn't suck so if he sucks again, he's gonna have to suck on the disabled list or in Vegas or something.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 It's so much easier to just concede that this is gonna be a lost season. Where the hell are they going with two and a half minor pitchers and an outfield that's worse than Shinjo-Payton-McEwing and not even in the same ballpark as ol' Casey's Thomas, Ashburn and Hickman? This way, for example, I can enjoy Duda's audacious home runs and keen batting eye without getting all worked up over the inevitable Hundleyesque outfielding gaffe with the game on the line (and it's coming, don't kid yourself) that'd ordinarily make you wanna tear your eyeballs out.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Well, Laffey was released. Carson up.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 It's not that we're expecting big things from the team this year, exactly. But guys like Gee were being counted on for back-end rotation work on the next good Met team, right? And I think, bml, you're forgetting exactly how bad Shinjo-Payton-Fucking SuperJoe was... at least Valdespin and Duda have SOME upside.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Time Lords1) Jordany Valdespin CF2) Daniel Murphy 2B3) David Wright 3B4) Ike Davis 1B5) John Buck C6) Lucas Duda LF7) Mike Baxter RF8) Ruben Tejada SS9) Dillon Gee RHPDaleks 1) Denard Span CF2) Jayson Werth RF3) Bryce Harper LF4) Adam LaRoche 1B5) Ian Desmond SS6) Anthony Rendon 3B7) Danny Espinosa 2B8) Kurt Suzuki C9) Jordan Zimmermann RHP
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I kinda like our crappy outfield.

You have no idea. How much I hated that bunch. Compounded. By McEwing and Shinjo's inexplicable popularity. Between those two and then that fraud Ordonez, another popular Met, I used to ask myself who the hell are these Mets fans? What the hell are they seeing that I'm not?And all of that taking place in the hideous soul-sapping black drop shadow abominations.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Joe McEwing's boots are in the LaRussa Hall of Fame. That's something right there.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I'm guessing that LaRussa has made a lot of acquisitions he can't quite remember or explain.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Gee's certainly yielded some deep shots, but a combination of Duda, Valdespin, and the wind have kept him clean. No wind could stop John Buck.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Baxter looked totally over matched yet he still lifts a deep fly to center for the sac. Good job kid.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Yea! Harpers busy thinkin how kool he thinks he looks and Baxter takes an extra base. Whats a matter Bryce, tired? I yawn in your general direction.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Werth swings 3-0 and grounds into a double play? Convenient.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 OMG Thank you Jayson WerthStill not out of it yet.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Daniel Murphy entered today's game 11th in WAR and 12th in OPS in the NL.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 WOW. I thought Rices goose was cooked. Gets a DP! DATS NICE! JUST THROW STRIKES RICE!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 OMG Thank you Jayson WerthNo, thank you, Davey Johnson for giving him the rope to hang himself.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Rice is either had a real good inning or is the luckiest sumbitch in baseball.I'm opting for the latter.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I've never played in the major leagues, but when you're:-Down 2 runs-In the late innings-Against a pitcher with control issues-Who just walked the prior batter-And nobody outYou don't swing 3-0.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Just wow. I had already figured theyd at least tie it. Jeeze, couldn't you have done that a little easier Scott? I think I riced my pants.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 What a strange inning.Lucky, yes, but it takes more than luck to whiff Bryce Harper. Usually, anyhow.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Bobby Pee. What's the sound of 40,000 peeps eating their hats?Hmghafmhfhfhfmgh.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Get your first ML hit elsewhere kid.Not here, not today.
