Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Guess I'm surprised to see the Buckster squatting today. Terry told Fatcessa yesterday that Wrecker would more likely catch Gee and Hefner than the other three because those two are most capable of calling their own games.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Ugh. These hats will doom us. I didn't know they were gonna be goin with orange bills. If they HAVE to wear em they should only with the blue tops. Why don't they run these things by me first?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Flordia Gee doesn't show up in Flushing in the first. Walked a dude, but otherwise unscratched.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 On a full count Cowgill swings at ball 4 and grounds out. Come on Collin. Don't be helpin em.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I have vague memories of being skunked by this Stults prick when he was with the Dodgers some years ago.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Yikes! I completely forgot that it was a day game! I'm working from home and could have had the TV on this whole time. Oh well. Looks like I missed 2 and a half scoreless innings. And I kinda like the orange-brimmed caps. It's better than any of the alternative caps they've been wearing.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 See. Just get that Turner at bats. 2fer2 with a double.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 There's no orange-brimmed version of the batting helmet.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Why should that insignia need an outline?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Benjamin Grimm wrote:There's no orange-brimmed version of the batting helmet. If they ever go there.......These beat the black hats for sure, but I'm not a fan of the two color caps on the Mets. Other teams, like the O's, it looks ok. Probably cause thats the way they were when I first saw em. I suppose I could get used to these and accept em. If Gee pitches the game of his life here it could win me over on the superstitious side.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Wow, if Tejeda caught that with his bare hand it would have been deJavu all over again.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Our first deficit of the year.Character time.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 When I was a kid playing in the CYO I got one of those plastic giveaway batting helmets from helmet day. For some reason I painted the bill white. I even wore it in CYO games. Either my coach didn't notice, or didn't give a shit. I have a pic of me in the helmet and uni somewhere. Don't know why I did that. It looked like crap then and it would look like crap now.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Kids like to pimp stuff out. MLB knows this. The real scandal is a coach letting you bat with a plastic giveaway helmet, which likely provided less protection than a bare scull.
