metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Went to bed at the end of 12, saw Edgy's Facebook post this morning, chuffed.Douchebag doctor at work yesterday asking other doctor if he watched the Ibanez have " it was historic", I chimed in with " typical Yankees fan, every home run and win is historic".I mean,STFU.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 The Crypt Keeper strikes again: the ALCS starts tomorrow. No day off for the O's or Opponent while the Tigers wait to see if they have to fly to NY for a game tomorrow.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I have this feeling in my gut that Angel Hernandez will make a wrong call that determines the outcome of the game.Later

But I don't have any problem with it. It's not like you're suddenly putting teams & players through some kind of pace that is over and above what they do during the regular season. Play a series, jump on a plane, play the next day in the next city - and in this case they will have only played 3 days since the last day off. It's not a hardship and if it helps you avoid November then it's a win all around as far as I'm concerned.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Sheesh, with all the years the Yankees would waltz to a championship playing three games a week, I'm all for stacking 'em up.

We were talking about the 2009 set-up in another thread yesterday so I looked it up last night: 15 games played by the Yanx (out of a possible 19) spread out over 31 daysTHAT is making the post-season follow a totally different pattern than the regular. Having back-to-back games with first-pitch times separated by approx 26 hours which may or may not be in a different city within the same time-zone is most definitely not unusual or a hardship.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I so wish they could manage dynamic playoff dates too. Say the ALCS and NLCS both only go 5 games. Instead of waiting a week to start the WS, one day off and go.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 You already know why the MFYs bench is so deep but Costa explains it again:http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444799904578050711563907982.html?mod=WSJ_NY_Sports_LEFTTopStories

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 A. Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup tonight. And there are good seats available for reasonable prices as MFY fans regard this round as the warm-up act for the Series:Brian Costa ?@BrianCostaWSJStubHub shows more than 4,100 tickets available for Yanks-Os Game 5, starting at $36.

Look to the sections by the foul poles, particularly terrace level, if you want a laugh.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Rodriguez not in the starting nine is not good........we need him there, come on Joe.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 JCL--outstanding.BUCKle In and Let's Go O's!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012 No baserunners for either team through the first 3 innings.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Nine runs in 50 innings so far. As dramatic as the series has been, the Orioles' lineup has been embarrassing.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012 First two men on in the 8th for the Orioles. If not now, then never.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Where was that single ... maybe 18 inches outside of Jeter's right foot?

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 If Michigan State winning national championships is a "game-changer" for Flint-the-city, and the Saints "saved" New Orleans with a SB victory, this means Baltimore is officially and finally a civic failure, right?Well, hey, Sabathia practically put an apple in his mouth and offered himself to the Os for their in-game feasting pleasure during that eighth; if they can't take advantage of that, and the MFYs' relative power outage, well...
