Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Christ, Opposing Second Baseman plays close to the bag, doesn't he? That's about the fifth headed-for-centerfield-back-through-the-box liner/grounder I've seen that he's fielded with ease.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 More errors please. Thank you.I sure hope Showalter wants this as bad as I want it for him.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) I can't take the annoucers anymore; it's like an infomercial for the MFYs. Edited October 8, 2012 by Guest

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 That was vintage Jetering by Reynolds.

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Since I was in Washington this morning, I read The Washington Post. Looking through the pages of articles on the Nationals I could not find a single mention of the Orioles game in the entire sports section. You'd think there still be some O's fans in the Post readership, but I guess not.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 New Yorkers want to root for the Yankees but suddenly find themselves irresistibly torn by the tug of Tebow.

Frankly I'm surprised they found room for Nats coverage.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 And Michael Wilbon is trying to build that national following by actually trying to be a bigger tool than Tony Kornheiser. That's hard to do.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Funny: Showalter did about 4 or 5 questionable things in that inning, and they all kindasorta worked out.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 TRUE FACT: "Matusz" is Russian for "Dennis Cook."
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Well, the ML saves leader is going to have a chance to close it out against the opponents. The only question is how large a lead.Of course he's the same guy that coughed up a 5-spot last night.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 O's are made of tough stuff. Lotsa things going wrong tonight but still hanging in there.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 This could be the best of all worlds: the Orioles hold on and Yanx fans all blame ARod for making the last out

(OK, bad pun, and a stretch. But I'm giddy that the O's won.)Later

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 That sounds like it may have been a too-late-for-this-edition problem due to the later start plus the rain delay. Because, while the Post doesn't cover the Orioles beat anymore, its not like they go out of the way to ignore them in some sort of break-up with your ex rivalry, and they generally at least run wire service reports or occasionally scoop up (hopefully after paying for it) an article from the Baltimore Sun.
