Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) Wandy Rodriguez (aka "Eny Cabreja") (11-13, 3.76) v Collin McHughWandy only lasted 4.0 inning in his last start coughing up 4 runs in ND to the Brewers. He's sorta owned us in the past holding the Mets to one run in seven innings over each of his last three starts against going 2-0. He also threw a four hit shutout in 07. Being a lefty probably means Ike will start on the bench. Edited September 25, 2012 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Was that a false name he played under in order to disguise his age?
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Correct. He basically assumed the identity of his best friend in DR.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Has rookie hazing day happened yet? Have the Mets done away with it?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 The Wilpons can't afford that many costumes. They're waiting for the after-Halloween sales at Party City.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I somehow never knew Wandy Rodriguez was a lefty until just now. Or forgotten.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Ike shouldn't be in the lineup tonight.

Got it.It's not like the game means anything. If Sandy Koufax could miss a World Series game and Hank Greenberg could miss a pennant race game for Yom Kippor, Ike shouldn't be playing in this one.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Ike is a hard-partying rebel who can't be told what to do.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Isn't it up to Ike to decide how observant he wants to be? I'm sure if he asked out for religious reasons Terry would let him sit.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Yeah, but setting an example for the children and all that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Rubicon is reporting that Jason Bay's back has become bestiffed and he his therefore observing a holiday of his own.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 This could lower his score.http://www.jewornotjew.com/profile.jsp?ID=787
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Ike has a history of embracing his Jewishness, out of respect for his ancestors who died in the Holocaust.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 And he can embrace all that with or without sitting out tonight's game.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I miss baseball. Of course, even if the Germans were somehow showing SNY, it's 12:20am on Wednesday and the game doesn't even START for 50 minutes. geeze. I will note that there was some extremely drunk people on the train this morning wearing FC Bayern Mnchen stuff though. Hopefully they weren't headed TO Oktoberfest for a postgame.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 In actual game news. The Mets fell behind 4-0 in the top of the first and got three of those babies back thru back-to-back belly-to-belly homers by Turner and Wright. Ike Davis got a one-out walk, and Torres is trying to join the fun now.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I'd feel better if McHugh didn't McSuck.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 That's a son of Edgy, buster. Watch it.I'm sure you'd see the grace in McHughie's performance if you looked at his secondary numbers. Or perhaps his tertiary or quadrary numbers. Barajas, as reported by Levin, has just welcomed his seventh child. "Congratulations, I guess..." offered Josh.Ha ha, Joshie.
