Not so in the second, thanks to some bleeders and bunts and bank shots... 1-0, People of Atlanta. No Cooby Kid sightings as yet. But hey, whaddayaknow? GUYS! on Fox!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Burkhardt describes Medlen-- apparently sincerely-- as a "human energy drink." I'm not sure I've ever heard that before without it being a backhanded compliment.Anyway, Med Bull is through two without a run.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 In-game with Readily Available to open the top of the 3rd.And speaking of available... plenty of good seats sunning themselves all around the park. PLENTY.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 "I'm happy to be having a great year. And, be sure to buy my new book!"
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 The worst part is, if he wins anything this year, he won't know to thank you.An iffy route by 'Spin in center gifts Heyward a double. A dinky single to right by Freeman gifts him a run. 2-0, Yahoos.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Perhaps Hefner should've eeten mor pre-game chikin; McCann sends a hanger to the gap faster than it came in, and we're at 4-0... and Medlen knocks it over our erstwhile centerfielder to knock McCann in.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Do you suppose this offense could make up a 5-run deficit to Kris Medlen given seven GAMES rather than innings?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Hey! Nominal offense!
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 having seen what came into dc earlier i think a rainout's a distinct possibility.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 needs to arrive damn soon though.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Good thing that Uggla & McCann are in slumps or else we'd really be in trouble here.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Hey! More than nominal offense!
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 seriously they should be having as many conversations as possible. also, if they wanted to a hit batter here might instigate a kerfuffle which'd give the rain long enough to arrive.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 oooh, Murph, an error is a great way to keep the braves on the field for a few minutes more.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Cedeno obviously didn't get the 'Soft Grounders Only' memo.I wonder if they'll fine him for that?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Has Thole blocked a ball with his chest protector yet this year?

I don't think I've ever seen a camera angle showing a worse misjudgement on a play as that one did there. I had to laugh. It was funny. Was hoping for a washout too. Now it counts, so, yea, it'll probably start pouring any minute.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Well, it's a washout of sorts.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Well, it's a washout of sorts.lolNote to self: Be more specific as to what kind of washout I wish for.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 With plenty of Metly help, Medlen Dew is through 6 on 80 pitches... and there go the tarps.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Why even call it a rain delay? GAME OVER MAAAAAAN!GAME OVER!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Asked what he would think about Chipper Jones if he were a Mets fan, he smiled and said: "I would respect the body of work, but I would hate his guts."T-minus one day til take off.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Exactly, respect and hate.It I were Terry today, I'd start the hardest throwing rookie they have, and tell the kid to give Chipper a cup ckeck.Just for old times sake.Later
