Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Cute ESPN intro. This should be a good game. Or torture. It's a tossup.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 Nice job by Niese getting out of the first.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Good job getting out of that fix Jon. Now settle in.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Heads up running by both Baxter and Wright. And Ike drives in David! 2-0 us.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Hey, Johnson can run a little. Beats the throw for the infield single. Nice.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I know it's an inconvenience for the local crowd but I enjoy when the Mets are on Sunday night. The ESPN announcers stink, but, at least, it's not a WPIX game and the kids are mostly ready for bed come 8 PM.Meanwhile, the Mets tack another run on here thanks to some timely hitting by the Rube.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 How can they talk about teams going after Bourne in the off season and not include the Mets in that conversation?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 Because, unfortunately, until the Mets show they are willing/able to spend money, everybody is going to assume (rightly) that they aren't.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Nice piece of hitting by Davis. Wright has 2 doubles tonight. I think he now has 35
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Lets tack on. I'm starting to snooze.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 ... though I've doubted you and flayed youI'm glad that Terry chose to play youYou're a better man than Sheets is Valdespin
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 After Chipper retires he's gonna get fat and have like 4 chins.

You can certainly question if the Mets will spend, but they need an outfield and Bourn is avail. At the very least a "the Mets need an OF too" without mentioning finances.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Hey, you know what would be a really good idea right about now? -- NOT bringing the tying run closer to the freakin' plate!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Edgin getting seriously squeezed and bases are loaded.Technically a save situation, and so Terry goes to Frank Francisco, because it's the law.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Ha. Save situation. Jeeze, this team, lol. Well, at least Edgin got those two outs.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Damn. Great at bat by that other Francisco.
