Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Nope. Well good thing Jason Bay started off that inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Seems like it's been a while since we've even seen Muffy pull a ball much less pull one that hard. And, no, "pull one that hard" is not a cue for FMan
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Yay. Bay got the hit. Now I wouldnt boo him at all tonight.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 This is turning into one slow-assed game.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 This has been a real brilliant pitching change by the Fish so far.

And the bubble wrap (probably best you don't ask).
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Geez, I didn't even know they were playing. Didnt miss much apparently.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 You're here for the come back. Btw, great opening of the IGT by Swan. Very entertaining.

It's perfect baseball weather tonight, folks. The temperature is a balmy 82 degrees with a light breeze, and there are just a few cumulus clouds up there in the sky as the sun begins to set. It should be a good one, and here with the lineups is my broadcast partner Gary Cohen. One of the highlights of the season, truly.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I can't fault some for booing Bay tonight, tho he has met my hopes. He saw that curve, he recognized it, yet swung in a slap dash way that makes you think he was surprised.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Check out Acosta with the single-digit ERA. Pretty fancy-shmancy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 They stick with Dunn and that keeps Valdy and Baxter either on the bench or at a disadvantage.Get ready for some red-hot Justin Turner action.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 And they bring in Bell. Gotta counter with Valdy, right?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Nope. Sticks with Turner.Don't give in, Terry!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 It's RHBs what been wearing Heath out all year ... up until those two ABs anyway.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Blah.I wanted see Turner kaboom one and then pie himself. I don't think Shortys actually playing to win this one Edge. Hes just workin the team.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I wanted to see Turner sit down like a good team player and hand his bat to a lefty.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 k, one more shot. Two meeslee runs to tie, 3 to win.. COMON GUYS!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 christ. come on Wright.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Fucking hell, 1-2-3 in each of the last three innings. Way to fight to the end, there.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 The remainder of the season is dedicated to the Salvation Army.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Made a rare trip out to Citi Field. Didn't get to try the steak sandwich, unfortunately.Terry Collins' stupid decisions make me at least 50% more frustrated when I witness them in person. Running it down tonight:1. Not pinch-hitting for Niese with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 5th and the Mets down two. A defensible move, if you need to get some length out of your starting pitcher. Niese had 82 pitches at the time. The next inning, he throws only 13 more. Then Terry, in his infinite wisdom, removes Niese from the game. So, Terry, if he was only going to throw one more inning...why not pinch hit? Those three extra outs from Niese were that important that you squandered one of the Mets' best scoring opportunities?2. It continues to baffle me that Bobby Parnell can only pitch one inning. He's effective...and then he's gone.3. The aforementioned situation where Turner is allowed to bat despite having two excellent left-handed choices on the bench (Valdespin, Baxter).
